Also, will this just allow me to have the wedding on the beach or will it allow me to have it on the beach and keep the area closed off to the public as well for the duration of the wedding?

Check with the parks and recreation department in the county that the beach is located. They will usually allow you to rope of a small area. Best wishes!

Where are you having it? As in what beach, what state?

You should contact the county that the beach is in to get all the requirements and specifics.

In most states and counties you do not need a permit.

In pretty much all states and counties you can NOT close it off to the public.... it is a PUBLIC BEACH!

I want to take pictures at a park in my home town and i have to go to city hall to obtain the permit, i think you would need to do the same better yet gove them a call and see what they say save yourself a trip...i hope this helps.

I have heard that they are expensive and it does not mean that no public access there still will be people all over the beach.
