That phrase - "I WANT to believe" - is what Mulder is all about. The reason he was assigned to the X-Files is because he has MORE than an open mind to the supernatural. In fact, he often tries to find supernatural explanations to normal things. That's why Scully was assigned to be his partner. Her medical knowledge and skeptic attitude were meant to keep Mulder in check.

Maybe he couldn't find one that said "I believe." Besides, if you've watched the show for any length of time, you'll know that there are constantly moments of doubt. Even if he DOES believe, he still wants to continue to believe. In any case, it's just a poster.

yes!!!! I feel that he probably has it there to calm people into thinking that he isn't a freak who is always looking up in the sky at night......Mulder has his fair share of baggage too. BTW...can't wait for the second movie! LOVED that show!
