The knot has been most helpful, and its free. There are so many pictures to get ideas from, they have some DIY sections, they have etiquette sections, a checklist for planning, a budgeter, and so much more. I would be clueless and lost without it.

When I got married I read a lot of Bride's magazine. They have good tips and great photos.

Books are helpful depending on what you want help with. There's a book called 1001 ways to Save money and still have a dazzling wedding by Sharon Naylor that I thought was great. The Everything Wedding book was good and there are tons of great etiquette guides out there. A lot of them will be available at your local library also! So, no need to buy them.

The best thing you can buy is a planner just for your wedding details. There are tons. Go to Borders or Barnes and Noble or any other book store and spend some time looking. You're sure to find one that will fit your organizational style or keep you organized if you lack an organizational style.

Hope this helps! Congratulations!

go to your local book store and get a book that's called (not sure of exact title but it's close) weddings on a budget; plan a wedding on $5000 or less. This will give u plenty of tips and where to look for more. U don't have to stick to $5000, but these tips will also show u were u can add to your budget to make it a beautiful and cost effective wedding. Most magazines won't help much, they're just fun to look at. Most contain the same exact things...perhaps a Martha Stewart wedding mag or look for ur local edition. I bought "Michigan Bride" several times...it helped me with the names of vendors in only my state...try it out! good luck.

I used Bride's magazine alot - the Internet wasnt as big of a resource back when I got married, as it is today. Girls in my office who have been married recently - use the Net alot more than anything else.

Just a word to the wise though - always run your ideas by someone who is 'well grounded'. Some ideas people come up with are really silly and a waste of money to everyone at the wedding - except you.

One girl in my office insisted on spending crazy money on invites with flower seeds imbedded in them - so everyone could 'plant' their invite as a symbol of the couple's love growing. I took an informal poll of others at the wedding - and no one planted their invites - they all ended up in the trash.

opt for a area and notice what dates are open (or opt for a date and then detect a area with it open) first. the area will each so often push you in the direction of a undeniable colour or subject after which you may desire to purchase the favors and decorations to bypass with that. it is going to additionally confirm how great a customer record could be deliberate. Get the outfits tried on asap so which you have time for transformations. as quickly as you have the date, e book photographers, musicians/dj, caterers, the officiant, and the florist. invites might desire to be ordered as quickly as you have the time and placement set (or shop time and money and print them off your place computing gadget with an invite kit from Staples). Wow, there are maximum of issues and October is a very tight time-physique; this is properly worth your at the same time as just to hire a marriage planner who knows of distributors interior the section already.
