We're putting up a fence, the board themselves are not pressure treated, only the 4x4 posts. One side of the fence (four posts) is within 10 feet of our well head. I cannot fond any information on whether or not that proximity poses a health risk or not.

Does anyone know?

Pressure treated lumber used to contain arsenic. Several years ago they were ordered to find another safer (?)chemical to use to treat lumber. How old are the 4 x 4s? How deep is your well? I would think that the amount of chemical leaching from the posts would have minimal impact on the well--but, for peace of mind, contact the county environmental employee or the lumber company for more information.

If this is an artesian well, I would think not. Your well casing is embedded in bedrock far below the surface.
