The problem is it already has 95k miles, and there's a huge paint scrape on the right side. Still would it be a good idea to buy the car since it's in good working condition and just get the side repainted at a later date?

95K miles isn't really all that much if its been well maintained and seems to be working well. You didn't say what model or engine, so I'll assume its a 4dr EX 4 cylinder with cloth, that gives a trade-in value of $11,000 based on www.nada.com pricing.
If I were you I'd take the car to a shop and get a quote on how much to fix the damage, then to another shop for a through inspection to make sure nothing else is wrong or going bad.
If it checks out, then get your butt over there and buy it today sucka!!!
