Many people feel the same way you do. That question about why God has permitted suffering is one that has been asked over the centuries.
The Bible offers the explanation. Most people know the basic"story" of Adam and Eve. However most people are unaware of the issue that was raised when Adam and Eve chose to eat the "forbidden fruit".
God, as their creator, had only given them one law, "Don't eat from the tree of the Knowledge of Good and Bad in the center of the garden." They knew what would happen if they did, God said, "You will die if you eat from it"
Satan tempted Eve. He told her she would not die if she ate from the tree and she was bound to be like God, knowing good and bad. So she took, she ate and she gave it to Adam to eat. When they ate this fruit, they joined in a rebellion against God. They in effect said they did not need God to rule over them, they can do it themselves. This challenge would take time to prove, so God stepped back and has let mankind try every form of government. What has been the outcome? They have all failed. Man has ruined the earth, caused so much pain and suffering to other humans all because of greed and hatred. The Bible states that “man has dominated man to his injury.” (Ecclesiastes 8:9) We have seen this to be true in the things you listed in your question, slavery, the Holocaust and Genocide.
The good news is that God's original purpose for the earth and mankind has never changed. He wanted the earth to be filled with peace loving people who would take care of the earth and the animals. He will step in and 'right the wrong' that has occured.

God has reasons. Or maybe not. Life is senseless. So many things have no rhyme or reason to them. Maybe it has a purpose. Certainly it is hard to comprehend how something like the Holocaust happened. I think of God as creating the world, dumping us in, and then letting us lead from there. He gave us free choice, after all. Sure, He can hope that we do the right thing. But if He were to say, "STOP!!! THAT"S WRONG!! Don't do THAT!!", it sort of defeats the whole purpose of free choice. Everyone makes their own decisions. Sometimes horrible things happen as a result of free choice. But sometimes beautiful things can occur as well. I think that genocides and massacres and the like hurt God just like it hurts us when we hear about it on the evening news, except more so, because we are like God's children (and I'm talking all of humanity, not just the Jews). I don't understand how the Holocaust could have happened. I honestly don't. But then, who can? Maybe it was a warning of what can happen when we let hate go too far. In that case, we're doing a pretty lousy job picking up on the hints (Bosnia, Rwanda, Cambodia, Darfur, etc.) Somehow, everything will turn out ok. That's all we can do. Just hope.

These things happening are the results of man-- executing his free will-- making those decisions-Those choosing to follow satan- will suffer the same consequences-
Gods - purpose is to expose the evil that satan & the fallen angels engage in- To prove to the other Angels that He ( God) is NOT a dictator- but a fair God-- That once satan is destroyed ALL will understand why- There will be NO question as to why they were destroyed. God allows man- to make their own decision for or against salvation -- because he is NOT a dictator- he is a just God.

Those are just hardships that man has to pay for man's original sin. He also wants us to be aware that we can make something good out of these bad stuff. He allowed sin because if not, everyone else would be a God and He doesnt like that since he is the creator of everything.

God is definitely real. Never ever have a doubt about it. But he hasn't got a power to control peoples mind. Slavery, holocaust or genocide comes out from peoples mind. Because these horrible and disgusting things are all about thinking and deciding. That's why he couldn't control such things.

that is a very heavy question which led to alot of non believers. G-d gave man the freedom of will. g-d does not just let things happen. Man just lets things happen. Did the people of Africa fight back when they were being captured for slavery? Did the Jews/ Gypsy's/ Anybody else who wasn't 6' blond hair and blue eyes fight back?
Who let Hitler become so powerful? was it the people who refused to believe that he could really do that or was it g-d?
Without intervention from WWII do you think there would still be Jews left in the wold or do you think that our world would be ruled by Germany? Have you ever heard or told somebody that they made there bed now they have to lay in it? Same thing applies. If everything was done for us we would not learn from it.

The answer is simple yet distasteful for many!
I once heard that my grandmother told an aunt of mine who came crying to her about some problem with her new husband -- GM said to daughter, "You married him, so you solve your own problem." End of story. Well, my aunt liked the answer as little as many here will:
Men choose self rule, independence from God. What does true independence from God mean?
It means, "GOD STAY OUT OF MY AFFAIRS!"
And he did. So what are we complaining about?
He promised that those who shows faith in the ransom He provided through his son's sacrifice would be given eternal life in Paradise under God's rule by Christ the Prince King (Isaiah 9:6).
So let's put the blame for slavery, poor paychecks, the holocaust, and genocide on those who did it! Men!

Yes, like the person above said God gave humans free will, so he won't intervene in our wrongdoings. Life is a test to get into heaven, and not everyone passes. Without evil, how could 'good' exist?

So that people will not be too attached in the earth because its just temporary... If earth is perfect, why will you need God and heaven... Its a matter of faith that God is real... If all things work together perfectly, you can't even remember God or ask Him to help you... that's why God allows this things for us to realize that we need Him... God Bless
