If it's IBS w/ constipation then try Miralax. It's available over the counter. Also, supplement with a Vitamin B-complex, take 150mg - 300mg per day. Also try the amino acid L-Glutamine, 500mg - 1000mg per day. The Vitamin B-complex and the L-Glutamine help with intestinal muscle tone and function. I have IBS and I take both these supplements everyday, and they have really helped my intestines feel a lot better. The Miralax works great for me too, and it doesn't have side effects like other laxative and fiber products do.

you can take over the counter meds, same as scripts, there's no cure, it's just one of those things you have to learn to live with, and learn to controll. Stay away from the foods that bother you most, (me---lettuce, nuts, corn,) make sure to eat enough fiber rich foods to produce bulk, If you ever find a ( cure) please let me know.
