This is a serious question for those whom equate the human life with an animals life. I am only attempting to understand the values that PETA members and those alike subscribe to.
If you believe that the life of an animal and the life of a human is equal why aren't you as outraged by the murder of chickens by farmers as you are by the murder of gazzelle by lions? Or are you? Also, how to you assess the value of an animal? Does a knat or a fly have the same value as an elephant? If so, is your value system based upon the size of an animal? If not, do you believe that the life of a child is just as important as an ant or a cockroach?
Again, I am not trying to mock or trap those whom equate human and animal life, I just wish to understand.

PETA members are fine with natural death and the cycle of life. There big issue is things like the KFC chickens. In nature you don't see Lions packing up chickens by the truck loads and sawing off their beaks to make more room. The issues is that PETA feels that as intelligent beings we have the duty to take responsibility for the life of the Animal. Not just abuse it all the way to its grave.

I left PETA almost 20 years ago because I did not agree with many of their tactics (vandalism, etc.). But I'm still a vegetarian for moral reasons primarily.

This could be a VERY long, complicated answer. I will attempt to make it short.

The very point of spreading animal rights for me is the fact that humans and animals are NOT equal. I believe that if people began to look in to the value of the life of an animal they would never even think of harming a human.

I also do not think all animals are equal. I base the advancement of animals on (among other things) the complexity of their brains. The more an animal is capable of thought or suffering, I think we should try to leave them alone. [One of my best measures of this is the presence or absence of the neo-cortex].

I am a little saddened by animals killing each other in the wild, but I know they must do this to survive, unlike the majority of humans who kill, do so out of luxury.

Good question. I wish more would ask it. Let me know if you need me to clarify anything.

of direction i think of dogs deserve rights; basically no longer the comparable rights human beings have. dogs/cats/different pets deserve the splendid to nutrition, water, look after, and, of direction, to no longer be abused. besides the undeniable fact that, this all is going with Animal Welfare *no longer* Animal Rights--opposite to what some could think of! PETA, and comparable communities, and sooo off-base, it is not even humorous. human beings help them by fact they're animal-fans and haven't any theory what they're approximately. they're loopy. and that i'm a meat-eater; even with the shown fact that I prefer to consume meat that i be responsive to grew to become into unfastened-variety and did no longer spend it is lifestyles cooped up in a cage pumped with antibiotics. it is lots extra healthy for me, this way, too, even with the shown fact that it is complicated--the only element for me it is assured is the beef I consume(it is grown the place I stay).

If you aren't trying to mock them, you are doing a pretty bad job of disguising it.

Animals have no choice, they have to kill other animals in order to survive.

People do have a choice, and I think this is the crux of PETA's argument. I disagree with this argument, and their methods, but I understand where they are coming from.
