It's possible, but really really not worth it. It's a dumb idea for the following reasons:
1) You might not lose all that much weight, just a little.
2) You will feel weak and dizzy the whole week, you might even faint, the hunger pains will be terrible and you won't be able to do much.
3) As soon as you start eating properly again, you will put on all the weight very quickly plus more. This is called "starvation response" and it is your body responding to a period of fasting by storing extra fat (preparing for next "fast" period).
So although if you stick it out you might lose a few kilos, it is not an effective weight-loss method and it's unsafe to boot.

In a word - NO!!! You are right - diets don't work - there is nothing wrong with you when they dont work either-you just need to change the way you think about food. The best way is a good nutritious food plan with some guidance such as Weight Watchers. If you dont eat and just drink water you will loose some weight but it will just be water weight, not fat. And you will also loose vital vitamins and minerals that your growing body needs. Your metabolism (the thing that burns calories to make you loose weight) does not even kick in and start to burn until you eat something-of course it has to be the right something and that is where Weight Watchers can help. There are other weight loss groups - Overeaters Anonymous or churches sometimes have groups. You can also find programs on line - search "weight loss programs". But of course, ask your doctor first what is best for you - Just drinking water is a huge mistake that could really have bad consequenses. Good luck!

I personally wouldn't recommend fasting to a person that is not yet fully grown however if you are fully grown then fasting can definitely benefit the health. If you are considering fasting then I would definitely talk to a doctor before doing any more than a day at the age of 14. There are several other ways to lose weight in a healthy manner and they will work if you persist with them. You may need to change your lifestyle a little rather than dieting for a certain amount of time and then stopping.

No offense, but really don't do that. It's terrible for you. Just try eating less meat, drink more water, have lots of vegetables, but don't starve yourself. Believe it or not, that puts ON weight. Try and be active and go for a short walk each day. Lastly, don't worry about your weight. If people tease you, they are rude and idiotic. To be honest, it's all up to you. If you want to do this you can. But if you stat feeling light-headed or not well, eat proper food. Like spinach or vegetables and water and stuff. =D

i agree with the others that you have to be careful with yourself. Plus, just diet doesn't do that much without a proper ration and exercises. You should not only eat right during diet, but also when you r off it. By exersising i mean that you can accomplish a lot if you put together the two. Body needs to adjust to different rates of growth, and by doing some exersises like aerobics, you can train your body to adjust to dfferent foods.

starving yourself isnt an option when u lose weight. cause eventually when u eat again, u will gain all that back anyway. drinking water is the best thing. one way to enjoy it more is the flavored waters, like aquafina. your body needs protein and all that in order to lose weight,. consume large amts. of veggies like celery with ranch or carrots. eat a salad. its a fact that eating a jalapeno slice everyday helps u lose weight. that is, if u like spicy food. i do!

Alyssa this is a dangerous diet. I dont suggest you try it. Your body will go into starvation mode and make more fat - then you have more problems than before. Eat a reasonable diet and slowly lose weight its much better for you.

No it's not safe. Your body is still growing and needs the vitamins and energy only food can provide. Exercise more, eat smaller and healthier meals, and stop worrying about it. Your only 14, and your body will adjust as you get a little older.

Don't confuse being thirsty with hunger. Drink a glass of water when you feel hungry to see in the event that's what you're really craving.

It is not safe. A human can go as long as ten days without food, as long as you drink plenty of liquids. If you do try this, drink water, and also fruit juices, for their vitamin content. I repeat however, it is not safe, and not really recommended.
