I have been taking Seroquel in addition to Prozac and Wellbutren. The Seroquel was substituted for for another med that was causing liver problems. The Seroquel has worked well so far in both aspects of the MD. However, I am taking additional meds. I find that the Seroquel allows a very deep sleep with a lot of dreaming. Lack of sound sleep has been an issue that causes a lot of problems for me. So in that regard Seroquel is great. MD is a drag!!!! I don't know that I will ever be "normal", if normality does exist. I try to take it one day at a time and if I don't harm myself or anyone else I consider it a good day.

You may have to find that out yourself. A good therapist will usually let you try different medications until you get one that is best for you. You might look up Emotional Intelligence. It's being used in everything from business to sports and there are many techniques we all use for depression that may surprise you for effectiveness. Under medication you learn to see the world differently and form a new view on life that is enduring. Knowledge, even a conversation, rewires the brain. Intuition connects you with how your body works so you can harmonize the left and right hemispheres of the brain and develop the connections between the two. In other words, study intuition that connects you to your "center". Gets you more centered. Life seems to be made of absolutes and 'seeming contradictions'. Opposites, like light and dark, for instance, have a slew of absolutes in the middle, like all the colors. Not so much a balance as a position in the middle. Sometimes these things can be learned and even be a solution eventually. Not judging works wonders and that's why it is mentioned so much in literature along with forgiveness, thankfulness, understanding and knowledge of emotions. Men are afraid to look into those things, imagining it a weakness. Actually a knowledge of emotions makes you strong and love is not a weakness, but strong and a strength, if you follow what I mean. I haven't tried that particular drug, but when I got emotionally/spiritually 'full' I lost a lot of that that hungry feeling and 17 pounds. I'm now down 20 pounds. I figure most of that hunger was emotional and when I reached that love that is really inside and doesn't come from outside, I just felt stuffed and didn't want to eat as it felt so much better to not be too full.

Seroquel is known as an anti-psychotic drug. It works by helping to restore the balance of certain natural chemicals (neurotransmitters) in the brain. I have had bipolar for years. I have tried this drug and for me it has only been a nightmare of gaining weight, throwing up, and fatigue. I know that everyone is different and not everyone's body is the same, but when I was in my depressive state, it didn't seem to work. In fact, it seemed to push me into that state. But, like I said, it's different for everyone and it may be a totally different case for you. Doctors are still trying to find out what is the best medication for bi-polar disorder. All it they can do is trial and elimination. The only person that will be able to tell you if that medication is the best for you is YOU. I'm sorry i couldn't help further. (: Good luck!

Seroquel is an atypical antipsychotic, not a mood stabilizer. It controls irritability, delusions, and agitation. Therefore, it is not meant to help with the highs and lows like Lamictal, Depakote, Neurontin, and lithium. I tolerate Seroquel really well and cannot get good rest without it.

I understand. I took prozac and it made me think of the law enforcement officers have been going to return into my domicile and take my cats faraway from me! O.o i'm bipolar too! however the factor is... at the same time as seroquel helps me with my mania (that's thoroughly manifested by like, delusional paranoia/stress) I take a mushy antidepressant (zoloft) at a low dose with seroquel to maintain me from hitting the incredibly extreme lows. yet i've got continually had incredibly great extreme lows. do no longer hear to those loopy men speaking approximately going off of meds! they're for sure no longer bipolar! communicate approximately craziness! Us bipolars off of meds might desire to besides provide up on functioning as usual adults in society. >.> merely, what you may desire to do is see a psychiatrist oftentimes, and don't be scared to offer them a decision and enable them to understand what's happening all of the time! in case you experience such as you're commencing as much as bypass manic, dude, provide them a hoop! Be like rfile! Dude! i'm paying you stable money! those meds do no longer make me experience ok! you may desire to artwork me in as quickly as you are able to! What might desire to I do correct now. and merely tell them straight away up what is going on. i actual straight away up left a message on my rfile's gadget asserting "i think of that the law enforcement officers are going to break down my front door and confiscate my cats. Oh, and the partitions are respiratory. i think of this prozac isn't understanding." Heh. guy, think ofyou've have been given to enable them to understand how undesirable that's. do no longer be afraid of drugs because of the fact which you had a foul journey. merely confirm your surgeon knows what has got here approximately. straight away up refuse to take any antidepressants by themselves. yet gentle low doses of antidepressants blended with antipsychotics could be comfortable with us bipolars each so often to even out the moods.
