You can purchase a device like this...
http://www.martleyelectronics.co.uk/cat_control.htm#pc04
What it does is, it gives off a high pitched bleeping noise that the cats dont like to hear, they then stop messing on your lawn.
-citrus, they hate the smell, scatter it over the lawn or you can get this spray you can spray around that smells citrusy (is that a word!?) anyhow that will take you ages, pop some of it in a sprinkler(if you can i dont know im only 16 and dont garden!) and it will cover the lawn, the sprinkler will do the job but i guess you cant have it on forever youll kill the plants.
Well I do hope some of this helps solve the problem, if not then sorry!
Oh or if you catch them doing it have a water gun handy- i know it sounds cuel but as long as your not too mean with it, just give them a little squirt to show your displeased.
Best of luck!
Amanda!

You can sprinkle orange peel in you garden as the citrus puts them of and they cant stand the smell so they dont go there anymore.
You can sprinkle crunched up eggshells all over and cus they dnt like tredding on them the obviously wont go over there x
If you dnt want your garden to be a mess you can always put a wooden 2d cut put of a standing cat out in your garden as cats dont like stepping in other cats territory it wont go over there so if it cant get there it wont poo there!!!!!!

You need to buy some scent off gel, and spread it around the garden. This should encourage your cat to go elsewhere.
Mostly available at all good garden centres.

Cayenne Pepper works, Mothballs work.... discussing it with the cat owners works best if you are willing to lose friends! People don't like to believe that THEIR cat would ever do anything EVIL like that!!! I keep a strong spray bottle of water by my door and ZAP them whenever I see them. I also planted a ground cover in most areas... here in Florida I use egg plants...which they don't like at all and don't need much care. Good luck.

Keep the soil wet.
Actually I got some stuff last week - stinks like garlic for a couple of hours after putting it down, but it seems to be working.
Growing Success Cat Repellant - but I reckon I will have to put more down after all the rain we had yesterday!

Have you tried some cayenne pepper? Put it around your plants or whatever in your garden animals don't like the smell or taste. Ask your veternarian they may be able to suggest something that can help.

if you have a zoo near you ring and ask for a bag of lion or tiger poo.........the cat smells this and thinks "bloody hell!" and won't use your garden again.
failing that catch them, put them in a small hessian sack and place a brick in there with them. toss the whole lot into the canal.

Hi, Try an ultrasonic cat deterrent. Not harmful to cats and you can buy in most garden centres: http://www.deteracat.co.uk/

Get a dog and let it pee all around your garden to mark it as his territory. I am told it also works if you get a man to pee in your garden too, though the neighbours might not appreciate that whilst they're out there sunbathing.
