We are saved through grace. That means that through His grace God provided a once and final sacrifice for our sins through Christ's death on the cross. As Christians we should do everything we can to bring the good news of Christ to the world. That is the works part of salvation. You are right, many of us do not witness the good news of Christ as much as we should. Others of us do it in such a way as to be so offensive to the people that we witness to that we completely turn them off to the idea of Christianity. You are also right in that God is watching His people to see what they are going to do. I try to live my life so that it shows others that I am a Christian. I try not to be offensive in my witness to non believers because I believe that just as God holds us responsible for the people we lead to Him He also holds us responsible for the ones we drive a way because of our witness. You made all very good points. I am a hospice nurse and though I get paid for what I do I still look at it as a mission field for the Lord. I show love and caring and kindness to my patients and to their families. Outside the job I try very hard to show the Lord through my actions. Thanks for the reminder that we need to live what we believe. God Bless.

Religion tells us that we should be good to others and convince them to do good too. But religion tells us to live our lives too, within the confines of morality. Religion doesn't tell us to forget everything else and only do good and preach. How would people be able to survive? We need a job to keep ourselves alive with the basic necessities(food, shelter, clothing), and to sustain others who depend on us, such as our children. What religion doesnt tell us is to accumulate beyond measure. No one needs a second car or one that substitutes for a whole family's sustainance for several years. Luxuries such as expensive cars, big houses, jewelrey etc. are frowned upon because they divert the attention from the real cause that is working towards an after-life.

One religion that takes the role of doing God's will seriously are Jehovah's Witnesses.
We dont believe heaven is the reward for those who do 'good'.This is not a Bible teaching.
We do however,as dedicated disciples of Jehovah God,offer our time and resourses willingly to the doing of God's will.
As 1Tim2:4 tells us that God's will is "that all sorts of men should be saved, and come to an accurate knowledge of truth."
And in obedience to Christ's command found at Matt.28:19,20,Jesus commanded his followers to "go therefore, and make disciples of people of all the nations,.....teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you.",we as Jehovah's Witnesses do just that.We go from door to door,or whereever people may be found and preach the good news of God's Kingdom and the many blessings it will bring to obedient mankind.
One of these blessings is the hope of eternal life on a paradise earth. This is what we look forward to.And by doing the preaching work we are also helping fulfill Bible prophecy......
Mat.24:24:"This good news of the Kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth, for a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come".

I do not expect to to spend eternity in heaven or hell, and have no fear of my fellow humans suffering forever in fiery torture, but I am starring your question. I do look forward to everlasting life here on earth.(Psalms 37:29, Isaiah 66:22, Matthew 25:46, Revelation 21:3)
Jehovah's Witnesses do display the zeal you describe for God and his kingdom. Our motives are not to avoid eternal torture, but to praise our heavenly Father and help our fellow humans gain everlasting life.

No, every second of my life will not be dedicated to that.
It will not land me or anyone else in hell for eternity. Accepting Christ and loving Him will land me in HEaven for eternity.
You are way wrong, friend.
You are turning people off to Christ with constant preaching fire and brimstone. You can let them know that you're a Christian and then live a Godly life. They will see it.
Actions speak louder than words.
YOU might be the one in Hell for leading people the wrong way by telling them they will go to Hell unless they preach to others all the time. That, friend, is just not true,
Yes, I am deeply religious.

Of course you must help others to understand that God's will , must be done.
I have serious doubts about those who complain about others ,and preach to others , by saying:
"You do not do as I do, you will die in hell"
Thanks to the prayers and works of many ,
good people . We have alle earned Salvation, .
We have learned the lessons Christ taught, and now everyone must accept it,
We have turned the corner, and are on our way.
You see everyone must be saved, that is the Love part of it, even the sinner must be saved. Do you not understand the parables of Jesus. Is that not the purpose of the Good Shephard?
To leave one of our brothers in hell , without salvation is not the Will of God.
Tthere are those that have advanced mankind by thousands of years, by forgiveness , prayer , and love.
Reaching out to GOD with a Common mind ,
many people together on the same path.
They do not pretend to be better than others, they do not condem the fellow man , for not doing as they say, /They fpllow and teach the will of God.
You see God is timeless, that is difficult to understand, He is not subjected to seconds or minutes or years, God is timeless. Time has no hold on Him. He i never was concerned with time, that is a human problem , all things simply ARE with God. Time is nothing , everything is RIGHT NOW with God, he needs not wait for us to return to him, because it allready is .
We think in terms of time, and that is a major part of our falling away from Him.
You see we are spiritual beings, we inhabit these bodies, we have lost the knowlege of God ,
We were with him at creation. . We had to be because God is timeless.
What things are the Will of God??
Do you have any idea at all?
How about
Forgiveness
Love
Salvation
Peace
Are these not things that are of Gods will without a doubt. Can you name any others?
Fear of hell is that what you see as the will of God?
People not trying very much, is that the will of God in your eyes.
Perhaps you need to be filled with the Holy Spirit and begin loving others and forgiving them, Think?
I pray for you
May the Holy Spirit enter you and fill you with a burning desire to love and understand Gods Will and the teachings of Jesus.
My prayers are answered , because I pray for that which is God's Will, and God's Will , will be done.
You are now Saved, because that is also the vWill of God.
So let your fears go, you may have several 72 year cycles to go.
But even now, You are safely within Gods arms. Do yoyu feel Him , let Him remove your fears.

I think part of the problem is that our minds have trouble grasping eternity. We have no point of reference for understanding eternal life in spirit form. Some people read the scriptures and understand them to say that the "resurrection" will be into a physical form and that eternal life will be here on Earth in that form.
Personally, that makes more sense to me. To have hopes of living in perfection in a physical form for ever, sounds more appealing than being a spirit without form.

Whoa, slow down. We aren't suppose to spread the Gospel because we are afraid we are going to hell. The hell thing is history for us who are now covered by Jesus blood. What we are suppose to be doing is sharing this Good News with others because we love the Lord and we want others to experience His love first hand as we have.

Both of your examples are meek people.
If the meek inherit the earth, it goes to reason that if you want to inherit heaven and live in the full presence of God, there is a different quality you must possess and exemplify when the hour comes that you are put to the test.
So, if the meek inherit the earth, what trait do those who inherit heaven have in common?
They are _______ in their ________.
SO, the meek inherit the earth and the _____ inherit heaven.
Wasn't that easy to figure out?

You've said what Jehovah's Witnesses do. To tell people of God's Kingdom. It's how we live our lives. Are you one?
