I do believe in magic, but... what kind of magic are you talking?

On this age, magic is a form of art, where exist a line of artist called illusionists that are able to create the sensation of the impossible, such read your mind, make live animal appear from nothing and cut girls into pieces or make them levitate.

But behind all the performances exist a secret of the craft that are not related with the supernatural but with cience, sleight of hand, optical illusions and most of all: psicology, because they know how to fool you. I'm a peforming illusionist and can tell you that even a simplest card trick can became a great shock to a person of the audience; of course, they are aware that are a "trick" performed to entertain them. But what if they don't know that? They will be surprised and will believe that they've just witnessed a true magical event. Why people ask in this forum if some artists like Criss Angel are for real or have bonds with the devil if they are all illusions?

Another way of magic is the called Wicca, that is not about making spells like the witches you've seen in cartoons, but is a religion (defined as neopaganism) that retake the pratices of old european witchcraft, and explore the relationship with the nature as a living being. Wicca practicioners use their knowledge as a way of personal growth and for the right use of energy, not to attack or curse others.

There are other manifestations that some people calls magic, but they aren't realted, as ESP, paranormal phenomenas as ghost appeareances and espiritism, mind reading, tarot reading, astrology, etc.

Why this happens? because in the older times all those knowledges were reunited in one person. The priests were the society's fount of knowledge and helped to keep the society's control, so they know not only about the relationship with the god(s), but also knew about medicine, astrology, phisics, chemistry, history and, yes, most of them used what we may call magic tricks to prove to the people that their power were real. And as people can't tell that it was a trick, they believe they've witnessed a miracle. The Bible has a lot of examples of that.

After all that, I do believe in magic as a performance art, but is people who makes it real. The same if they believe in the supossed power of a simple stone or ritual, they make it real. Magic came from the mind, not from a spell or a cast.

I think magic is in many things people take as mundane. I have long said if anything is magic, then sex is magic. Can you disagree?

Do I have magic powers? No more than the next person, I think. I have been reading Tarot cards for some 35 years, but I do not think there is anything supernatural about that. Mostly it takes studying the cards, and books about the cards, and doing a lot of readings. I may be better than some at picking up subtle clues in a subliminal way, but I don't claim any power to control the forces of nature.

I work with Mother Nature, not against her.

Personally I recognize I have magic powers. Once I was once sitting in my bed room and quite desired the partitions to be an extra colour and increase, they went from red to blue. It was once so powerful. my mother didn t realize how they d transformed from red to blue, she was once like omg I under no circumstances purchased any paint. then there was once this party in which I quite desired a can of health care professional pepper and increase it was once there on my desk. I believe I must cross to Hogwarts or anything for the reason that that is simply uncontrollable now. I even bought a brand new cat and known as him Salem for the reason that I recognize I have powers. I quite suppose that Harry Potter is correct. now not the movies however the books are a truly existence occasion. JK Rowling quite is a witch, that s how she is aware of such a lot approximately witchcraft and wizardry. I don t believe I m magic ample for Hogwarts despite the fact that or I d have had my letter through now?? Bethany, 15.

There is no magic. There are miracles, though. I believe that I have the power to control personalities, talents, liquid, and souls.

i believe magic is directing energy to a certain purpose, for example the ability to fly - to defy gravity needs a stronger energy that will oppose it.
people can do that, to some extent. i know i can cause my body to direct energy to a certain purpose, like curing pain, simply by focusing my thought on doing that.
i can't fly, though, and i don't know any wizards like harry potter. ;)
