Contrary to what what most people think, most concert applications are mono( to hard to get proper imaging for everyone. Yes feedback is a problem. Limit the active mics to as few as possible. Use a active utility mixer for vocals such as the Scm 800 or 400 from shure brothers. As well as a DSP p4800 one set for vocals and one set for musical sources. Feed from the 400 or 800 to any effects mixer to get real time adjustments in effects( Some can be done in the DSP).Using these will enable you to sonically map and actively reduce feedback and noisy environments.

good luck and make sure to get some reading material about pro audio.
