I have a lump under my right arm, it hurts.
I heard Cancerous Lumps are not suppose to hurt.
Can someone tell me some characteristics of cancerous lumps?

Thanks.

P.S. I am 15.

Many a times lumps are found in the area of armpits and it need not be cancer. It may be simple swelling of a gland. Cancerous lumps may not have any pain that too in the initial stages and it will show off in later stage only. It is difficult to tell the characteristics also. Further you are a small girl and unless you have hereditary reasons it may not be cancer.

All said and done you can not take chances and you have to get it examined by an doctor and he will advise you for further action to be taken. Please do not neglect and take chances as CANCER IS STILL AN ENIGMA. PLEASE DO NOT WORRY. Best of luck-

Many of the cancerous lumps dont hurt in the early stages. It is best to consult a doctor who will be able to tell you if the lump is cancerous or not.

It sounds like a swollen lymph node. I used to get them all the time when I shaved.
