Read for your self John 3:16-18. God sent His only Son Jesus for the world not just "The Roman Catholic Church". My ? is What have you done with what Jesus did @ the cross? Have you recieved Him as your Savour Or rejected Him? What church you go to does not matter. What you do with Jesus does. Going to church does not make you a Christian. What makes you a Christian is that you have accepted Jesus as your Savour. Have you accepted Him or rejected Him?

I am living a Christian life and go to our small Community Church. The service is alternating between Anglican and Uniting Church and the first Sunday in the month the Roman Catholic Church has got the facility early morning with one of the others following. I was brought up Lutheran and my husband Anglican, but we take part in either Service. In Zambia we have been invited and attended the Catholic Services, which we thoroughly enjoyed.

Jesus did not form the Roman Catholic Church. Jesus was a teacher teaching to live a Christian life.

The people make up the Church not the religious group, administration or institution.
That is my view.

Jesus did only form one Church. Does anyone honestly believe that Jesus Christ, the only perfectly honest man to walk this earth, formed thousands of different churches teaching contrary doctrine?

Does anyone honestly believe that Christ's desire was to have His body scattered among thousands of different Churches teaching thousands of different doctrines?

Christ established a Church and called Apostles, Prophets, Pastors, Teachers, Evangelists etc to edify the people. Which among the current denominations is actually lead by apostles, prophets, etc? Can you claim to be part of the body and deny the need for these offices of the Church? Can the hand tell the eyes that it has no need of them?

The Pope is not incorrect in asserting that there is only one true Church of Jesus Christ. It's the only rational conclusion possible when you understand the character of God and His actions in the past. There has to be a Church that is authorized by God, either through a continuous line of authority from the days of Christ or through a Restoration of that authority. The Pope's only mistake is picking the wrong one.

People can't fully access all of the benefits of the Atonement until they are properly taught the principles and ordinances that govern these benefits. This is exactly why Christ calls witnesses. So the people can be taught the truth by the power of the Spirit by those who have experienced it first hand.

Jesus Christ is a stumbling block for those who don't believe and can be just as big a stumbling block for those who believe to the point where they get tunnel vision and ignore everything else Christ and His servants taught.

I believe Pope Benedict revealed more about himself with that statement than he has as yet. This Pope has a big mouth. When he isn't ticking off the entire Muslim world, he attacks his own Christian fellows by claiming publicly that he and his church are superior above all and in fact, are the only true choice of God. Very, very intolerant and arrogant. I can't see this boding well for the future of the Roman Catholic church. This is one scary Pope.

Pope Benedict never made that statement. If you would have taken a second to browse the million plus similar questions you would have seen that several links have been provided with the full statement. I think it is funny that right after condemning Pope Benedict for something he did not do, you go on to say that what makes a person a "true" Christian and say that we must follow your way to be saved. Doesn't make much sense does it?

It is true that you have to accept Jesus as you savior but just accepting him and going to church doesn't necessarily make you a christian, you may be saved but living as a christian takes more than that, Read Timothy 2:13 - 2:15.
If your living for God he wants you to be fruitful.
God Bless

I don't agree with some of you guys remarks about Catholics. I am a Catholic and I know God does not want to leave anyone behind, I believe that anyone who is or becomes a Christian can enter heaven, All i know is that you have accepted Jesus as your savior and that Christians should not be prejudice.

read for yourself the document.

the pope was addressing catholics in response to requests from the faithfull. if you are not catholic why does it bother you? the pope has to address more than 1 billion people, if you go from church to church you will hear each pastor say their church is the one true faith the popes is more broadcast because it includes a large parish all around the world.

for the truth of the catholic church here are some sites that will help.

re read your bible, preferably with 73 books and the writings of the early church fathers and you may just find the truth of the catholic church. hope this helps, it is offered as my humble opinion with no intention to offend,if i did i am sorry, hope the sites help. god bless.

i would just like to add, the catholic church has always maintained that it is the one true faith. we love and pray for our seperated brothers and sisters in christ, we acknowledge that those outside of the catholic church can enter heaven, just to clear that point up.

All Christian religions say they are the only true Christian religion. That's the problem with having only one supreme "Truth" if someone has a problem with even the tiniest part of it they have to start an entirely new denomination. If the silly religion continues for a couple hundred years there will be a separate denomination for each and every Christian each in his own little ego bubble thinking he's better than everyone else....
wait perhaps it's already happened!
OMFG!! What's wrong with Christians?

Blessed Be!
