we have been together for a very long time and we love being with each other. but he constinly says hes a bad boyfriends. He shared one of the reasons with me and he said it was becasue he dosen't have a lot of money like some of my friends boyfriend to buy me things. I told him I don't care about material things, i just want to be with him, but he says he still feels like a bad boyfriend... is there anything i can say or do to make him relize he isn't one?

All you can do is talk to him but it takes alot of work to change his mind. Just tell him how much you love him && like you said you don't care about having the material things && you just want to be with him && you love him for the way he is that's why you are with him. && also you could tell him why you love him. ok, I think you need to put it back onto him, sounds like he is looking for reassucrance and you to boost his confidence which he needs to do himself, this rem,inds me of a girl constantly saying 'do I look fat in these jeans' we know he aint gonna say yes so we ask him ( even though we would still wear them and tell him to jam it if he said yes) but imagine how draining this would get if you asked him day in day out and really cared what he thought, that's what he is doing so next time he asks just change the subject, keep doing this until he stops asking and hopefully he will grow up a bit. If not maybe he is not the right guy for you.

You should mention how much you love him a lot. Also, comment on the things you love about him that don't have anything to do with anything material, like the way he treats you. Bring up how much fun you've had in the past with him. Eventually, he should realize how amazing he truly is.

Some people thrive when they think they're not doing so well. The key is that they are always TRYING to do better. As long as he's not too depressed then let him be, but just keep showing him your appreciation.

tell him to grow up and act like a man. i find it kind of insulting that he thinks the only way to make a woman happy is to give her material things.

i think you both need to sit down and set up a goal in life together. as long as he knows that you value things the same as he does, then i think he will fine. good luck!

write him a letter or tell him in person, say that you hate how he feels like he is a bad bf and you wish that he can see what a great bf he is like you see tell him. Tell him that you love him and if your happy then he should be too!!!!
