MY Answer to Roshan:

Yes we have to protect it at any cost.
The Idea of destruction is not a new issue.
Long long back the British who were not at all used to tolerate other religions called our Ramsetu as "ADAMS BRIDGE" . From that moment the idea flourished slowly.
And these politicians are ready to sell their wife and children if a good offer is there. So we have to do something,
I don`t know from where the hell that ~adamu~came to India at the time of Ramayana.
Thank you for asking .

The Ram Sethu is indeed man-made. Lord Vishnu in the Treta Yuga (1.70 Million Years ago) took the form of Prince Ramachandra, and with the help of the Vanara Sena, and particularly Lord Acharya Hanuman, built the Bridge. Recently, The Telegraph paper published a leaked report, concealed by the Govt., that scientists have ascertained the Bridge to be man-made, and about 1.75 Million Years Old. Drills & Cranes at the site have broken down mysteriously though, yet they don't heed the signs.
The Govt. hates Hindus. They appease Muslims so that they can win elections with a majority, as Muslims consitute a large portion of the population. Islam has terrorized Sanatana Dharma for a long time. If a Muslim monument had been discovered, no doubt the entire Army would have arrived to protect it.
You may ask why Lord Vishnu is doing nothing about this injustice. Because the Lord is so unselfish that He cares not if people don't accept Him and forgives them too. But His wrath is swift when His true devotees are discriminated. This is the Kali Yuga, and the Vedas have predicted all this to come.
In conclusion, I do not care what they do. Sriman Narayana (Lord Vishnu) is eternal, and this immorality is not. Disowning a spiritual heritage will not diminish His grandeur.

Rama's Bridge or Ramar Sethu -
A chain of shoals extending about 29 km (18 miles) long between India and Sri Lanka. According to Hindu legend, the bridge was built to transport Rama, hero of the Ramayana, to the island to rescue his wife from the demon king Ravana.
According to the Hindu epic Ramayana (Chapter 66, The Great Causeway), the bridge was constructed at Rama's request by his allies. The bridge was supported on floating sand rocks but the gods were said to have later anchored the rocks to the sea bed, thus creating the present chain of rocky shoals. It was said to have helped Rama to reach Sri Lanka to rescue his wife Sita from the demon king (Asura) called Ravana, who was then the ruler of Lanka.
News services like the HindustanTimes (Press Trust of India), Vaishnava News Network and Indolink claimed that the bridge is evidence that events narrated in the Ramayana epic actually took place. Besides NASA's imagery, they cite several geological evidence as proof of their claims. However, NASA has distanced itself from the claims related to the epic Ramayana.
Government of India is trying to destruct this ages old evidence and it is highly condemnable. There are so many other alternates to execute this Sethu Samudram Project and it is not understood why the India Government is bent upon executing this and have not considered the crores of the feeling and belief of Hindus. The action of the Government is highly wrong and at any cost it should be stopped and alternate possibility tried.-

When the Ram-Sethu was constructed it was a higher purpose. The purpose was served. Today..if the Sethu will be demolished, it will also will be for a higher purpose...Why can't we accept changes in a positive manner.
There was many historical monument standing their as a ruin or debris...what are we doing about it ? We do not cry over it, but incase if the govt takes up a task for a benefit of people...we start shouting all sloguns.. Why is that so ?
In my opinion, it is nothing wrong to demolish the so called Ram sethu bridge and create a passway, Anything which will serve humanity and benefit people..I will vote for that.
I do not indend to hurt your feeling...if it does..sorry about it.
