Why was your visa application denied? Was it for health reasons? Anyway, don't lose heart over such a measly incident. You can always re-apply. Just hope and pray that the next time you apply for a visa, the interviewer will be most kind and understanding. Are you a Filipino?
I have friends and relatives who made sure that they won't go through much difficulty with their visa application; all they did was to travel to a lot of Asian countries and their passports were almost fully stamped from the places they had been to. When the U.S. consul saw their passports, their visa applications were quickly approved.

I'm very sorry to hear that, where are you coming from?, cause nowdays they will deny the visa to anyone, I guess because the inmigration issues that are still going on without being solve, I do know that in my country Dom, Republic, you still have to wait to go and request the visa again, so it will be good for you to find out, how long this take in your country to go and apply again?, I wish you the best of luck, and I really hope you can spend this memorable times with your grandkids some day.

Hi Elcie,
My name is Imran, I work at a Canadian immigration firm. I feel for your loss of not being able to see your grandchild. Usually when people are denied a B-visa, I tell them to wait six months to re-apply. I get the feeling from your e-mail that you are retired, which makes it a little difficult because most of the time we advise our clients to take employment letters or school documents.
In your case, the next time you go back if you own or rent, make sure to take yoru property deed with you or a rental agreement. If you are in a retirement home, then get a letter from the home saying they expect you back and that you are paid up until when you are paid up.
If you need our help in a few months give us a call. Unfortunately, we do charge a fee. Otherwise if you do it on your own take as many documents as possible that connect you to the country where you live.

You can go down and apply again, and yes you need to pay the full application fee again, you need to stress all the ties you have in your present country, house, money in bank, pension, business etc anything to show your reason to return to your country. America believes all people want to come here to stay. I wanted to bring my wife from Thailand to Arizona to meet my family, but we could not convince the American Embassy and did not get the visa. I would have had a better chance to get a fiancee visa, my mistake was getting married 1st.
TRY again ask to see the US Counsel in charge of visa affairs and explain your problem to them, many are very heartless.
Good luck!!

I agree with Daniel F. You should try again.Perhapes some letter from your relatives in the US will help stating that you are just visiting and they are sponsering you. I don't know what country you are living in so it is hard to say. My mother-in-law came for a month visit from Hungary when it was still communist. She showed them her bank statement ect. also her husband was staying behind. We had to send her an invitation letter. Good luck, keep trying...

Have your family living in the United States come visit you. You wont be stressed out and yet you still get the pictures and memories of the visit.

If you can get sponsored and escorted across the border, a tourist visa can be granted. You need a US Citizen to sponsor and be responsible for you while you are a guest in this country. If you fail to return, your sponsor will be in as much trouble as you for failing your safe return to your home country.
