My friend met a guy online who conned her, played her, and seduced private information out of her about herself. He asked for her address... Out of love, she told him it. He promised her many things, even went so far as to send her a link to the website of the Platinum Diamond Engagement Bridal wedding set that he bought and had engraved... He really played with her mind. They had a relationship for about 2 months and that relationship soon became jealous and controlling. He would constantly check up on her online, and would know certain things because he'd stalk her every move. They've had continuous arguments. He frequently said over the phone during these arguments, that if she'd leave him he'd kill her. He has also noted his access to guns that he keeps in his home. He has also mentioned an "illegal lifestyle" to which he has learned who to talk to to get "things" done or get "people taken care of". Can she get a restraining order against him... and how does it work?

ok good to know she can get a restraining order and file a police report

But where and how.... since the guy lives 2 hours from her... which police department would handle it?

He's so sick that after she gave him the address, he was talking about the map he was looking up where the police stations are... Just so he'd "know" how long he'd have to get away... Sick jokes.

Yes she can, but first kick her in the a.s.s for all of us cops that get brought into the stupid bullshi.t because a man or a woman fall in love with some one that is sitting behind a keyboard saying he or she is so loving and hot, guess what they aren't or they wouldn't be single.

You must have filed complaints against him first, if you have no police reports then its he said she said, every time he calls call the police and file a report then you can ask for a restraining order. If he has said that he will kill you a judge can grant you one now, but if you don't document it it never happened.

In the US...She needs to go to her local PD to file a report and her local Superior Court to file for the restraining order. None of it will be any good without his full name, and DOB.
