Dry and/or greasy skin due to poor oil composition of the skin. Thick greasy oils clog pores, lack of oil leads to dryness and irritation. You need thin oils to moisturize while dissolving and clearing gunk in your poors. Try fish oil or seafood. 2 tsp fish oil a day or 4 servings of seafood a week. Stick it out for at least 2 months; it will take a long time to replace all your oil. Any effect after 1-2 days is temporary or random; so even if it makes you break out a little at first, you haven't given it a full try yet.
In the short term you can wash and moisturize well, but that will only go so far. Plus excessive washing can be drying and excessive moisturizing can be clogging. Use a small amount of a light moisturizer, made with oil not jelly or grease. Often that means soybean oil or mineral oil. Mineral oil means mined from the ground. So soybean oil is usually better, though mineral oil won't cause too much harm. Clean with soap and water, not a harsh acne cleanser. Even then they only work so well. So you really need the seafood.
Antibiotics aren't really good for bacteria long term, they'll come back in force after. Short term they may help. After you get off them find some kefir with acidophilus listed first or 2nd to replace the friendly bacteria they destroyed. Studies show less illness when you have these bacteria, even outside the stomach in places such as the lungs and elsewhere. You want friendly bacteria to fill the void when the antibiotics stop, not harmful ones.
In the short term you might also try 100,000+ iu retinol vitamin A (a megadose, and too much for normal use) or one of the acne drugs that is similar to retinol vitamin A. It's some minor harm to your organs, but it helps against bacteria on your skin. At least it doesn't have the other long term drawbacks to your skin that antibiotics and many scrubs do.
If you would like to learn how to treat your acne permanently and regain your health and wellbeing, without drugs, without typical acne treatments, and without any side effects, then this will be the most important letter you will ever read.

I don't know how bad your acne is but my mom bought me AcneFree. I guess AcneFree is called the knock-off of Proactiv. It's cheaper and can be found at Walmart and Sam's Club. Anyways, my acne was very mild, and I can say within a few days I could see the difference on my face. No more little annoying zits and my skin was less oily. I really like it. The only things is, it says to wash your face in the morning and in the evening. I've noticed after doing that for four days, my skin is kind of getting dried out. So now im going to try and use it once a day and see how it works then. Regardless, it works wonders. I dont need to cover my face up with a powder or foundation anymore.
My mom bought a 3 month supply of it at Sam's Club for $27.99 and a friend of my mom's recently gave a me a small kit ( a 1 month supply) that she purchared at Walmart (no one in her family wanted to try it) and I think she said she paid about $8 for it. (**it was $8 on clearance**)
Im sure Proactiv works too but to me AcneFree is a little more convienent. You can just go out to the store and buy it instead of having to wait for a shipment of it every few months.
Good luck with your acne troubles! :)

DON"T use Proactive. It does work to get rid of the acne, but once you stop using it the acne will come back even worse. Talk to your doctor about different treatments.

Yes Clearasil is good but for using proactive u should see a dermatologist personally. there are many reasons for having acne. First try to figure out what u eat. change ur diet habits if they are not healthy, drink as much water as u can, take adequate sleep, eat fresh fruits and vegs. Smoking, accessive drinking, eating junk food, and oily stuff helps acne to grow more. Also keep your skin clean, always use water base creams for face and dont use soap as it is harsh for skin. my own kitchen remedy for acne is which is quite effective too, take one egg white and add some powdered champhore in it apply it gently over ur skin and then leave it to dry and afterwards wash your face with luke warm water it will help a lot.its will also help you tighten your pores http://www.geoamaan.com/index.php?View=entry&CategoryID=7&EntryID=37

I don't use proactive... I use aveeno, it is like a scrubbing pad mixed with lots of different aloe treatments and things like that. It works very good (except for when I have my period but that is expected) I never have bumps except for that time of month. People are so quick to say proactive but that doesn't work for everyone keep in mind

Beauticontrol has an amazing product called All Clear Acne System and I have not met one person that hasn't had success with it. I have only heard wonderful praises about the products and have even seen the results for myself. PLUS there's a money back guarantee. I buy mine at www.beautipage.com/jwhittey. Let me know if you have any questions

I've tried both. They both work, but clerasil is a tad slow. I really REALLY suggest Proactiv it you want those acne off your face as quickly as possible. Besides, with clerasil, you get an outburst of acne when you stop using it. It really sucks compared to Proactiv.
