Exactly, depends on what you want to do and where you live. Probably in the United States is more requiered spanish, because of the huge hispanic population. German would be useful in technical stuff. Spanish is one of the most spoken languages in the world. German is the most spoken language in Europe as first language. I'm a native spanish speaker (I'm mexican) and I'm learning german because I'm living in Hannover, Germany (Exchange program). I like both languages. My first language is unique, though (spanish). Good luck.

I can see why you might want to learn Spanish. But, try thinking of it this way. Since you have so many Spanish speakers moving to America, many will become bilingual hence more competition for the job you want whereas with German there'd be less competition. I find German to be a beautiful language, which is why I enjoy listening to German music. Go to Youtube and listen to the languages to see which you might be able to speak better. Try to mimic those people. You don't want to be taking a language that is hard for you to pronounce. Good luck with your choice!

MAN LEARN BOTH!!!
I am a native spanish speaker and now i am learning german (i always wanted to but i moved to the states so english was priority)

You will find that english-german-spanish share lots of stuff in common making it easier for you. English comes from german but german and spanish have similar rules.

There is only one deception with German. You will find out that every single german speaks english, that really pissed me off when I went there and tried to put mine in practice. They just like english a lot and will try to talk to u all the time in english.

If you live in the states: Spanish, because the states is being over run by Mexico. No one speaks German here as a rule.

If you live in Europe: German or Spanish, because either language will benefit you.

Italian speakers can understand you if you speak Spanish to them. Well, both are languages based on Latin. Spanish is really very useful.
German is useful if you are an engineer planning to look for international work. I think there are more people worldwide who speak Spanish.

If you learn Spanish you will look for jobs that require Spanish if you learn German you'll be looking for jobs which demand someone speaking German. Don't forget that Germany is one of the leading conutntries concerning economy. Many German companies do business in the US (Mercedes, BMW, Audi, Porsche...) and any US company which exports will export to Germany.
I agree that Spanish might be easier to learn

In my opinion Spanish is a more beautiful language. Benefit depends on where you live. For example, if you are in California, you will never (almost never) need German, but Spanish is used every second. So it depends on your country and state.
