Stop what you're doing and close your eyes. Imagine yourself back in the place and time you were when you made the password. Think of where you were, what was going on around you, what you may have been thinking, who you had been talking to, etc. It sounds stupid but I swear I remember where I lost things by doing this, even when I don't think it will work at first. Go with hunches if you have to.

What I do is relax and let it go. I find the harder I try to recover a parapraxitic the more evasive it becomes. In those cases I try to have pencil in hand in case some unknown relationship or whatever has the memory of the article appear at my conscious level, and sometimes only long enough to bat an eyelid where I try to grasp the memory, only to find an evasive little child of a mind of mine so I end the game by writing the memory on a piece of anything because it is not fun chasing all over mind and back only to get nowhere but a stuffed in and buried hard to reach and bring back memory. And sometimes that too is iffy. I have done this and by the time I have put back into my pocket my pencil I cant even find the paper I wrote it on. And now I realize that throughout the day I have many objects come to mind where by the end of the day out of hundreds of objects I know of only one or two maybe have stayed with me long enough to consider them of any help. The rest gone with the wind.

it is possible to access long term memory, and really quite easy, but if the password was less than six month old and you didn't use it much, I am afraid it isn't in your long term data base, and you cannot get it, it is gone.
