why do ppl say that some one who commits suicide is selfish? i've heard my friends talking about it and i don't understand how it's selfish. all the person wants to do is get away from all the pain they're being put through. my friends say that it's selfish cuz every one goes through pain; but no one feels the same pain as any one else. so who's to say that the person who died went through little pain at all?

It might seem like the best thing to do right now, but if you hold on and march right through the pain, life will get better for you. You can never give up. There are better days you have never dreamed of ahead of you.

I know that alot of people who commit sucicide think they are doing the world a favor by doing it. The world will be better off without them. Which is not true, but they think that.

Remember that most people who commits suicide have a chemical imbalance and aren't thinking clearly. It's like saying someone with arthritus is selfish because they can't do everything.

I don't know if that is the answer you are looking for, but that is my feeling on the subject.

Hi Night Wolf, Some people have stronger minds and can get threw life without a sweat. But there are a lot of people who does not have a strong mind and are a lot weaker in dealing with things that happen in their life. We know it is a sin to take your own life, but these people are at the point they are not thinking straight and they are in a lot of pain because they cannot handle their own life. These type of people need to get into counseling before it's to later for them. I wouldn't call them selfish they are calling out for help and no one hears them. This is the way i see it. It's my opinion. A Friend.

There's no doubt that the person who commits suicide has been going through pain, but a lot of suicidal people don't believe that there's any other way out of the pain than to kill themselves, but by doing that, all of their family and friends have to go through the same pain that they did, when they could have just tried harder to find another way out of the pain than killing themselves. I hope this helped, and wasn't too confusing. :)

I have attempted suicide more than once.

I went through a deep depression to which I found myself not even wanting to wake up in the morning so I didn't have to deal with life and everything in it. I felt so useless, so worthless.

Depression is not "selfish" or "stupid" and I use the word depression instead of suicide becuase depression is the cause for wanting to commit suicide.

If you commit sucide, all the people that ever knew, and cared about you will be put through shock, hurt and pain. That IS selfish. if your friend said that, it means they really love you.... a lot.

i think it also means that you're being selfish bcause you're not really taking your family and friend's feelings into consideration...your taking away someone they love and it's not fair
