Nop u need to sign up in a contract with a isp(Internet service provider) or if ur lucky sum1 close around ur neighborhood has his/her wifi router unsecured so u can scan for networks on ps3 and connect to them without a password.

No the only way I could think of is wireless Internet and I do not know if the PS3 can use wireless Internet. For example I used to get Internet for free on my old laptop because it was wireless but that was years ago , the signal was weak and I do not think that the PS3 is compatible this way.

If the person above me is correct then that might work. My wii is wireless but it cannot find a strong enough signal near by.

The playstation 3 connects to a Wi-Fi network meaning a wireless home network setup. A home network setup requires broadband internet like DSL or Cable internet and a router to your computer. Without broadband internet than the Sony Playstation would be useless for online game playing and downloading content.

You do need an internet connection...but, the ps3 is wireless meaning that it can pick up possibly your neighbors signal. Try it and see if it works out.

Yes. PS3s are magic and can connect to the internet from ANYWHERE, even 10 miles underground.

I really hope you don't procreate :P
