Honestly, in your case it's not the kind, but the quantity you should worry about. I'm assuming you do have a good weight training program. Your body now has a bigger demand for nutrients, so I hope you're eating at least 5 times a day. Add more carbs to your diet in the form of grains, rice, bread, potatoes, etc, preferably whole foods and you'll be making muscle gains in no time. Also purchase a protein powder at the Vitamin shoppe or GNC. I like the vitamin shoppe better.

The main thing is to eat some kind of protein within 30-45 minutes of working out. Drink your chocolate milk with: a tuna or meat sandwich, scrambled eggs (I use 6 eggs but only three of the yolks), Greek yogurt, Bananas and surprisingly beans are also a good source of protein. I also used to drink a glass of low-fat milk 30 minutes before going to bed. The calcium and protein helps your muscle growth. During the day, eat small meals every 2-3 hours so your body can keep building muscle. Drink lots of water to stay hydrated. Talk to your coach about a summer workout routine to gain strength and size.

Whey protein is the purest protein available. Any lifting magazine will back me up on this.

whey protein is the best natural gainer - look for one that has at least 15g of protein per serving and as little carbs as possible.
