White goes with everything. You can buy cheaper black ones for special parties.

I i would prefer white dishes more i think there more elegant looking and go well with dinners. A brand of dishes i would recommend that are coming back in style is a brand of dishes called fiesta ware if your looking for something nice but not as fancy and even though there a decades old product they seem very popular now and have a modern edge and come in every color of the rainbow. Hope i was of some help good luck picking them out!

I like white dishes more because a lot of the fancy restaurants use completely white dishes.... It'd be kinda cool though if you got white plates, black smaller plates, white bowls, and a black glass, something along those lines.

i hated my black dishes. after a month there were like rainbow colored streaks in them from the water. i paid alot of money for the dishes and know of two other families that had the same problem with different brands but all black dishes.

White. The food presentation on a white dish looks more appealing and the proportions can be smaller and look bigger.

I like both. It depends on my mood and the atmosphere which I would choose. I think white are carefree and nice for spring/summer, but black says sophistication and is great for a romantic evening. That probably didn't help, sorry.
Good luck =)

I would say white, because you get to see all the food textures. Esp bbq cant really see that in a black dish.

White, but I would get a nice pewter set or get a really dark table.
It really all depends on what your kitchen/dining room looks like. If it's mostly bright, then stick with bright tableware.
Pewter is like a fogged silver, it's a bit expensive, but it's very nice, and it cleans well. Plus it won't shatter if you drop it.
