I'm 18, 5'5, 122 lbs, and I have this Nitrotech protein powder, it gives 20 grams of protein per serving. After exercise, how many grams of protein should I take daily? Also, when should i take it, right after exercise, or at night before sleeping or what?

Whats up red I am a personal trainer and a bodybuilder myself, so to answer your question you should take one gram of protein per pound of body weight. Also your nitro tech protein is just a name brand which is far too expensive go with a gnc or your local supplements shop brand protein. Trust me it will have the same effect, you mentioned that your protein contains 20 grams of protein, yes it contains 20 but after your body breaks it down it'll send alot of the buy product straight out poop shoot. Which in turn means your getting about 12 to 15 actual grams of protein. So my advice to you is to take 150 grams of protein a day along with the consumption of actual protein for example lean chicken and fish. Go ahead an take 2 scoops for breakfast , a shake right before your workout and a shake immediately after working out. I also recommend that you eat like a horse healthy of course no pizza or junk food. If you'd like to increase your results of you hard training check out L-Arginine and L-Glutamine there amino acids and are all natural and fairly priced at bodybuilding.com ooh and drink a crap load of water , take a multi vitamin don't over train an hr to hr and a half is sufficient. you should take 1.4 grams per pound of body weight. so that is 183 for the whole day. but you want to take 20-40 grams before and 20-40 grams after you work out. then the rest throughout the day. any other questions let me know!

at minimum 25 grams at a time, no more than 40 is what i have been going off of. try something beside nitrotech too. its pricey and not all that tastey, ON 100% whey is much better in my opinion

if your trying to get big 1 gram per pound you wiegh every day. for extra results keep it going all day. profesionals wake up in the middle of the night to have a protine shake, most people have a little about 1hr to 45min befor lifting and then a lot right after

Take it every 6-8 hours. Don't take more than the recomended amount or it is just wasted. Work out regularly...that is what really builds you up.
