Will you go to hell if you commit suicide? The only unpardonable sin is the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit, and that makes it confusing.

From a spiritual point of view suicide is wrong because we need to face our problems and grow and learn.Suicide temporarily circumvents spiritual growth.A person will have to face the same problems in the next experience.Theres no shortcuts."as a man falleth asleep so shall he awaken."

This is a delicate and tricky one, so expect to get a range of responses. You are correct to say that the only unpardonable sin is the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit which means (for the unaware) 'to attribute the work of God or Holy Spirit to any other source' as in rejecting God, because 'God doesn't exist, the world is a product of evolution, chance, randomness, etc.

Suicide is an attempt to usurp the authority that God has to give and take life away. It is akin to stating, 'I don't believe in God, because I, and I alone have the power to control my destiny, (ie, my life) this is how you have blasphemed the Holy Spirit; you have stated, I (not God) have control over the universe as it pertains to me.

I do not for one moment believe that a person committing suicide will go to hell.Such a person most likely committed suicide to escape hell in the first place.I would be more concerned at where the persons are going, who created hell for that person in the first place.

There is nothing in the Bible to support the teaching that suicide is a one way ticket to hell.

Those religious groups which teach this are not following the Bible, God's Word.

You will stop being confused if you stop listening to those who teach this horrible stuff.

Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem.
If your problems create so much despair in you that you are thinking suicidally, then you are not trusting God, and essentially, are worshiping at the altar dedicated to yourself.
Suicide is not the answer to your difficulties: Jesus is.
That's why Jesus taught us to flee idolatry. "Self" is an idol in the case of suicide, therefore upon a successful suicide, you are not in a state of belief.

if you are contemplating suicide your salvation is questionable, besides why not do what the bible says turn to god and ask him for wisdom and guidance and strength, you can trust in god and he will always guide you if you turn to him, that is what a believer in christ should do is ask for the strength to carry on not take the easy way out and end it all, that is a lie of satan.

All Christ had to do was ask and 1000's of angels would have saved him. He did not ask; he died. Is that not suicide and where is he now.

There is nothing after you die. You die. You become mulch in the earth. Life moves on.

I work with troubled teens and they always tell me that when they die they will be happy. You can't be happy if you kill yourself. There is no other life after this one.

I think God gives grace and mercy to those who take the easy way out.
