when you get up in the morning, one of the first things you should do is drink a glass of water. It speeds up your metabolism.
Always eat breakfast in the first 30 minutes after you wake up.
Try eating more fibrous foods. Eat lots of fruits, vegetables and some whole grain foods for staples.
Drink lots of water.
For protein have one serving of lean meat and the other, beans, tofu, or a small handful of nuts.
Milk products: have a cup of yogurt, low fat cheese, and/or a cup of 2% milk.
count the amount of calories you consume everyday. Try to limit to about 1500 -1600 calories.
Don't ignore hunger. If you're hungry drink some water have some fruit. So that your metabolism doesn't slowdown.
Though you have a bad knee you can still jog. Just don't push yourself too much. If you need a break walk instead. Exercise for about an hour each day. Other than jogging you can also do some sit ups or crunches. Walk for at least 30 minutes a day on top of an hour of exercise if you can.
Stay positive. Reward yourself. Set some goals. If you reach a certain goal buy yourself something, a CD you wanted, a pair of shoes, a shirt etc.

I am not comfortable with my weight either. my sister is 14. I'm 13. She helps me so much. Do at least 30 sit-ups or crunches a day. Drink lots of water and take breaks once in a while.

Do not skip meals. Eat three meals a day and 2 snacks (snacks should be fruit)
First and foremost stay away from BREAD, SODA's & SUGAR...those are the worst for you. If you stay away from those, you'll loose weight quickly.
Be sure and stretch before you work out...especially that bummed knee. Walk everyday (and I mean everyday) for 25 minutes. I promise you, if you do this...you'll lose weight.
Good luck.

just eat healthy (lean meats, veg. and fruits).. also eat 200 cals, 5 times a day. this will keep your metabolism high so you can burn more calories. dont eat after 6 either. I hope this helps & good luck! The key to any diet is sticking to it. most of them will work as long as you do that. Also, dont look at it as a diet, look at it as a lifestyle change.

Also, if you have bad knees, go easy on the squats and the lunges and do not run. Jog, if it does not hurt you or just walk fast.

As far as diet goes, eat sensibly. Many small meals (that are healthy) will be just fine.
As far as exercise goes, walking will do just fine.
Good luck.
