I wrent to a hardees and ask for a big mac. Just caused it is called something doesn't make it one. Our early european ancestors were brutal people. The reason the Frank king Maraving became a Christian was cause he Thought Jesus would help himwin a battle. Most of the religions of our ancestors ( that modern people like to use the term pagan and talk about its peacefulness) were full of sacrifices and war gods. Initially the early kings just excepted Jesus and Jehovah as another set of gods. This meant they went about their business with little change some not being officially Christian until just before they knew they were dying( so as not to sin anymore) They sytill received much of their advice from those who practiced the ancestoral religions. It took centuries to have Christianity to have a strong permanent effect on European culture. The Catholic Church only trained some priests to read therefore limiting the understanding of most believers to what the church said the Bible said ( this included the royalty) Thir cocept of religion and Christianity was much different than what ours is now. It would be like blaming a 25 year old for a theft he committed when he took a cookie out of the cookie jar as a child. While things like this is true It was a monk who helped end the gladiator games at the expense of his own life because of his Christian beliefs. During the Crusades The hospice program was begun in which all were cared for irregardless of their beliefs. The end of slavery occurred in several countries because of peoples belief in it being unChristian. so while many things have happened if you look at it from a perspective of the growth of individuals into christianity the view is much different.

Paganism had some impressive numbers going on for a couple of millenia, but I think your right Christianity probably has. Christianity has had a much bigger population to work from than Greek or Roman cults. Islam is on an impressive pace but doesn't quite have the head start Christianity had (plus we're still going). Communism is currently the fastest at killing people, but it's not even been a century yet-so compared to a couple 1000 years still a drop in the bucket. Christianity is and has been the largest religion for a while now, plus we have the #1 killer of all time in Roman Catholic Tomas Torquemada (18,454 during the Spanish Inquisitor) and #2 in Orthodox Catholic Vlad the Impaler (10,000+).
P.S.#3 is a Hindi named Thug Behram at 931.

Unfortunately, most leaders use religion for their own gains and power. It's not just christianity but any other religions as well which can be used by leader to unite the people for a certain cause.
There are probably studies going on right now to see if they can use religion in corporations to have better and loyal employees.
That's why it's important to know the word of God, his character and the dos and don'ts

I'm really not too sure about your first statement. Most blood in war is spilled for one reason! PERSONAL GAIN...........
Yes, people that are supposed to be Christians, are the ones telling others that they are going to hell....."Judge not, lest ye be judged." and yes it is tough not to let personal feelings come into these conversations. Just as Jesus said,"Let he that is among you without sin, cast the first stone." It's not a Christians job to condemn or judge, this is a job for the Lord.
I really hope I have helped you, or maybe clarified something for you. Oh, I bet if God was here down here(which he is) in body, I think you would definitely along with most everyone else, think he is "Way Cool!"

You are so right. I'm not religious, but I respect all religions. I do not, however, belive that killing or discriminating in the name of a "god" is justified ever. If Jesus was still around, he would be sick at all the "religious leaders" who protest gay marriage or marry multiple 15 year olds in the name of god. If everyone, no matter their religion or race would just respect each other, then conflict and prejudice would die out and there would be true peace.

Please don't confuse the Roman Catholic Church with Christianity. If your question is changed to: The Roman Catholic Church as spoiled more blood than any other religion, it would be much more accurate.
Don't forget that Muslim beliefs have been spread by the sword: convert or die. It is not documented how many millions Muslims have slain, but the Muslims and the Roman Catholic Church has too much blood on their hands.

I agree, there are a lot of people who claim to do Gods will just to cover their sins. And there are people who claim the name of Christ but go on to do all kinds of evil. those are the ones who give Christianity a bad name.

Yes it has... I wasn't going to assume anything about you for asking but thanks for clearing that up...
People have, will and do abuse the word of God their foolishness - their very own judgement for that too...
God probably wouldn't like it, Cause Matt 7 - God says let me be the judge and you guys be good.

you speak truly.
that is why all of us - Christian and non-C but especially Christian - must be wary of those who use Christian words to create war, oppression and injustice.
Right now, the silence of decent Christians is taken by all sides as approval of those who claim to speak for them all.
