my family has been adjusting each other's backs all my life. the best way that works for us...have her lay hugging a pillow under her chest...with her head hanging over the end relaxed. you rub it while she relaxes...put your open palms on each side of the spine (not on it!!!!)and push steadily in a downward motion at the same time pushing toward the head. for lower back have her lay on her side facing you. pull her top knee up to her chest and you push on her hip toward you and her shoulder away from you

Spines are best left to professionals. Leave it alone! Most chiropractors charge less than $50 a session. That's a heckuvalot cheaper than readjusting it after having it screwed up by a non-professional.
You wouldn't do brain surgery on her after learning a simple procedure on the web. So much could go wrong. The spine is just as delicate.
Shop around and ask around for a chiropractor in your area. It's worth it.

People can have a stroke if their backs are adjusted improperly, chiropracters themselves have done it, so I do not suggest this as a treatment for her back pain. The link explains the details. Plus if she has a disc problem you may make it worse, and once you mess up your back you are in for a world of hurt, possibly with no relief.
Cracking your neck is a bad idea, there is an artery in there that is not ment to do much stretching. The abrupt motion of 'cracking' your neck can harm this artery and give you a stroke.

You might be a "do it yourself guy" when you fix a car, oven, radio, T.V., or house, but when it comes to a person's life it's never a good idea to do it yourself. Especially spine is very, very important. I don't even trust chiropractors with anyone's spine. Please do not do it yourself, take her to a doctor and let the professionals to take care of this problem.

Please don't try and do this. It could be very dangerous. I know you are trying to help, but this isn't a do it yourself project. The back, spine, vertebrae etc., can be severely injured. The chronic back pain might be from a slipped disc, or some other malady only a doctor can diagnose. Take her to one.

i am pretty sure there is no self help website for this type of thing. can you imagine the law suits from people who failed while performing a procedure by following instructions on the internet?

Do yourself a favor and just take her to the chiropractor. That way she won't be your ex girlfriend and he person sueing you for spinal injury. You would be so broke you couldn't buy toilet paper.

That's really funny. And she would actually let you do something to her back? Idk if that's understanding or just plain crazy! Messing up your back will mess you up for life, so if you care about her, take her to a professional. And I'm just curious, are you such a do it yourselfer with your own body, or just other peoples?

Oh geez, even if there were instructions somewhere, I wouldn't do it!!
Too risky could cause more damage, chiropractors don't train for years for the fun of it!!
