About 10% of anorexia cases are male.

Absolutely, it's just not as publicised as it should be. There are plenty of male anorexics, mostly in sports. People always talk about how cheerleaders and girl athletes starve themselves and take weight loss to the xtreme, but you never hear about the wrestler who pueked his meals everyday, and baseball players who exercise and starve themselves so much they faint frequently...and i also knew some guys who just wanted to look thinner..no sports, and ended up looking like bones....and it's considered normal to some. ...of course if it were a girl playing a sport and vomiting, or starving herself, it would turn into a dr. phil situation with therapy, meds and the whole 9 yards. :/

confident, yet an exceptionally small share of anorexia circumstances are. particularly, a male who's attempting to shed weight for wrestling isn't considered anorexic, because of the fact he has a reason. it somewhat is clinically determined in accordance to the innovations-set. each and every now and then i think of my brother could be. he's severly underweight, yet he thinks he's fat anyhow.

Anyone who intentionally starves himself is anorexic. it has nothing to do with gender.
