The definition of a prophet is that he/she is the "mouthpiece of God". Therefore:

Ask a Catholic and they will tell you the Pope.

Ask a Mormon and they will tell you the President of their Church.

Ask one of the surviving Branch Davidians and they will tell you David Koresh.

Ask a Southern Baptist and they will tell you none.

I guess it just depends on who you ask.

My opinion...I'm Mormon...see above...

A prophet is a witness for the teaching of Christ.

Jesus was the last prophet as such but there are those that teach what Jesus taught in a way that is understood in the day and language of the people they teach.

A prophet is a teacher that shows how God's word applies to the day and time. Prophets are not foreseers as such but rely entirely on what the bible says. Such as if this is done - this will happen as explained in the bible.

For example: "A branch that does not produce fruit shall be cut off". Now this may have to do with the works of a local group but is entirely of and in God's word. Unfortunately there are many that misuse the words of the bible to have power and money.

There are humble, guileless, and agenda free teachers. We are blessed if we have one.

Absolutely, no accurate modern day prophets 100 years ago cause the true prophets existed during the era of Jesus Christ.

A prophet, by definition, is one that speaks the words that God has given him/her.
This does not always include telling of future events. When Jesus told the woman at the well that she had been married 5 times and that the man she was lilbing with was not her husband, he was, in fact prophesying.
We do have, however, in the scriptures that tells us one proof of a prophet.
"if anyone presumes to speak in MY (God's) name, at the thing comes not to pass, fear him not, for I have not sent him!"
Some future prophecies, will never happen in the prophet's lifetime, which makes it difficult, at times, to not choose to follow a real one or a false one.
Kenneth Copeland, in the 80's made two proclamations in Detroit (I mistakenly followed the name-it-and-claim-it crowd back then)
#1. that he was a prophet of God
#2 that Detroit would experience revival, the likes of which has NEVER been seen before! The greatest revival that Detroit has ever seen!

It did not happen within the timeframe he stated, therefore he is a false prophet. I do not consider him, nor his doctrine to be Christian!
Are there any prophets? I am sure there are some, but they are not widely known. I, myself, have made only two "prophecies" about the future in my lifetime, and they both happened, just as I stated
One was similar to the cock crow thrice prophecy about Peter. I told a flase borother what he was about to do and say when we cut himm off from fellowship, and he did the exact thing that was spoken to him, even though he swore that he would in no way do it.
The second wasabotu the downfall of a local minister who was lyeing to the congregation, and he was removed, as I foretold.

Having said all that, I do not and will not claim to be a prophet, but God can choose to act through those who are not prophets, even donkeys!

Nostradamus was the latest published I believe (1500's). Some believe that Kahlil Gibran was a clandestine prophet as well as Madame H.P. Blavatsky. But hey, if you were a modern day prophet would you say so? I mean look what they did to Jesus of Nazareth for crying out loud!!!!

Yes, they are around, but no one listens to them because of unbelief. Paul said the greatest gift was prophecy; Revelation says the spirit of prophecy is the testimony of Yahshua.
Amo 3:7 Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.
The prophets come to people to convict them of sin, and to warn them to repent, yet the people will not hear it because they are comfortable in their sin.
2Th 2:11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
2Th 2:12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
I could tell you right now that fire is about to consume this earth, but would you listen to me?

I don't know of a single one. Gosh, even the ones who claim to be prophets accomodate themselves by arguing that a true prophet need not be 100% accurate. So they basically even admit themselves not to be 100% accurate.

If there are any, I've never heard of them. I believe in a few forms of ESP. For example, last year in my town we had a young teacher killed in an auto accident. Her husband "sensed" something terrible had happened and left his home several miles away. He traced her normal route to work and discovered the accident.

I have never known or read any conclusive scientific study that encountered a test subject with highly developed precognitive abilities.

Prophets do not predict the future. They speak to the moral and spiritual issues of their day. If they refer to the future, it is to point out the consequences of various actions (e.g. faith, compassion, respect for the needs of the poor - ot the lack of any of these).

Gandhi, ML King spoke prophetically.

There are none. The prophets of old were ex post facto creations of the authors of the Bible.
