The diversity with in NASCAR is comical at best.If Chevy wins the others whine and if Ford wins the other whines. So goes the game.
But until the "roll metal pressed out car" came into effect the teams got their cars from Detroit. For some reason these cars were more so equal than the cars today.
Not that NASCAR favors one over the other but everyone wants concessions and wants a tweek here and a tweek there and the cars are getting further away from what their factory cousin look like.
To equal to the point Ford-Chevy-Dodge-Toyota are simular NASCAR would have to go to a "crate" car that would be built by NASCAR,which is not what fans want.
So to eaqualize the cars more(if possable) NASCAR has ti be stricter on the inspection tollerances. And have more controll on the teams.

Very little. The whole point of the COT was to make all the cars equal and the noses and engine packages are the only things that make the cars different. Then the handling of the car is different according to driver preference, and that usuall includes the track bar, sway bar, tire pressure, wedge, springs, shocks, grill area, splitter, wing, and a few other things, including brake packages...

As usual, Chevy cried about getting their @$$'es handed to them on a regular basis. So, as usual, NASCAR overcompensated, and gave Chevy a new engine (the R07). Now the Ford teams (read that as Jack Roush), is having to play catch-up in the engine R&D department. BTW...Ford has not had a major engine change since the mid-80's. Robert Yates came up with new heads, and Roush a new intake, but the block has remained unchanged.

The others have some points. Right now, the "Greenhouse" of all the cars are the same, with different noses, side windows, opera windows, and tailpieces on them (plus the different engines).

The COT's will have different windows and opera windows. The noses will be generic (like our UMP Late models), with different stickers making the noses look like different cars. They will also have their own brand of engines.

Nothing much, I think that NASCAR's mandating way too many things to keep the cars equal. In the old days I remember only like 10 cars would finish on the lead lap. The cars didn't have restrictor plates and the fastest car/driver actually won.

And the decals. Don't forget the decals. Gotta admit, it is amazing how much the decals actually do to make the COT look like a Dodge, Ford or Chevy...

The shape of the noses....One is a Chevy nose and one is a Ford nose. That is the only difference I can think of. They mave have other differences in the body shape but the nose is the one I know for sure. Hope this helps!!! ^_^ Smiles!!!

The engine too of course!!!

COT nothing but the engine. Then I'm not sure there is that much of a difference there.

Very little. Pretty much the amount of dollars each has contracted to spend to get their name on the front of the car.

On the current car, the engine and the nose.

On the Car of Tomorrow, the engine.
