Does coleslaw normally have onions in it?

I hate those freaking onion bastards!

I just read on KFC's website that they use onions in their slaw. I used to love KFC slaw, before I heard about those little bastards lurking in the fatty goodness. Yuck...

I make mine with onions, but cole slaw is one of those things that everybody makes differently. Nothing says there has to be onions in it

Not normally but sometimes if I buy prepackaged or premade coleslaw from like Wal Mart Deli I will add about 1/4 cup of very finely chopped onion just to give it a little more flavor.

I make mine with shredded cabbage and a little shredded carrot. The dressing is Miracle Whip, sour cream, vinegar, a bit of sugar and a few celery seeds. No onions even though I put them in just about everything else.

No, but if you like onions otherwise, you might try it with a bit of vidalia diced up fine - vidalias are the sweet onions you hear about now and then.

Not usually but I've had it with pineapple. It's delicious.
Have you tried red onions? They are sooooo sweet this time of year. Great on bacon tomatoes onion sandwiches.
