feather it out when you do the touch up, so that there is less and less new paint as you get father from the spot you are trying to cover. that makes the transition from the fresher paint to the older and slightly faded paint less noticable

I have found that when you want to either paint a dark color over a light color or vice versa, you need a primer that has been tinted to almost the same color as the shade you want to acheive. I tried painting my kitchen red and after 8, yes 8 coats, you could still see through it. A good hardware store would have suggested this when you got the paint mixed.

w/ eggshell you will most likely have to paint the whole wall. It will blen in but from the right angle you will be able to see the touched up spot. This is true for anything other than flat paint.

are u nuts? you should do the whole thing.. doing it half way will definitely show the usage of the other paint u didnt paint over, walls do change, the sun shines on it i dont know if that does anything but hey people rub against it with fingers too.. it will be noticeable, no matter what u do, just do the whole thing, it'll be worth it in the end

I'd give a few hours anyway. If it hasn't been too long since the paint job it should match up evenly.

It will probably dry unevenly. If you can stand the occasional spot then I don't think you will need to. But you might. It really depends on how long it has been since the first coat was put on. The older the first coat the more likely it will look uneven.

no it won't dry evenly. you'll have to paint the whole wall over. if it was a flat paint you would be able to touch it up.

It depends how long ago the original was painted.
All paints will change slightly over time.
Sunlight will bleach them out if it's strong.
Smoking will darken the whole room of course.
