it reminds me of Psalm 42
As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, O God.

Well, I have to watch my heart.
Anyway, those that thirst for righteousness look to have it quenched. Therefore receiving from Jesus what they want.
Mat 5:6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
Jer 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

Matthew 5:6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
Meaning if you want it then He will grant it to you!

To me, this verse means that those people who seek for righteousness like it is a basic need for them, vital for life, will be happy and fulfilled. If I were physically thirsty, I would stop what I was doing to go get a drink. If an easy drink weren't available, I would begin a search to find a drink. If I couldn't find it, I would be so desperate to get it. To seek for righteousness is to seek God and His righteousness. For there is no other who is righteous. And to thirst for it means to want it beyond whatever else I am doing on this earth.
It reminds me of Psalm 63: 1 which says: O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land where no water is;
This world can be a dry and thirsty land. Without God's word and His presence it would certainly be a place where no spiritual water is.

One's who seek righteousness and try for more righteousness are to be blessed by god
if you do good, god will reward you.
i may interperet this differently than others, like my oponions differ from others
i do not believe in a god, however i was raised a catholic. i have good morals, be the best i can be in life and help others. I am not a self righteous, ignorrant guy. i respect your beliefs as a christian as i hope you respect mine.

They agree with GOD. That's why they thirst, for righteousness.

We are the one's who want to see the end of the world. We are sick of our own sin, let alone everyone else's.
While the world is trying to find all kinds of ways to look younger, live longer, feel better, save the world, etc. We are the one's who want it to end already. Looks like we'll have to wait a little longer, but not that much longer.

It strikes my heart and makes me yearn for it. It is verses such as this that causes me to challenge others to pray Psalms 139:23&24 for a month to get them to do this.

I have no idea what it really means to be "blessed".
does this mean that some supernatural deity will annul the laws of the universe and create magic in order to somehow make your life better?
