I've been on Lexapro for about 9 months and I've lost about 10-15 lbs. I take 30mg. I don't know if the medication alone caused the weight loss or the fact that I'm less depressed and more active now. Anyway, I certainly did not gain any weight.

BTW, I'm also on Klonopin and Abilify (if that matters)

The doc said I'd gain 10lbs., well, I gained 8. Fortunately, I lost it after a few months. With Lexipro, which is a good med, I craved carbs and sweets for awhile, The benefits of the drug are far worth a couple temporary pounds, believe me!!!!!!

I have no personal experience with the drug, but ask your pharmacist for a facts sheet about the drug. Look at the side-effects on the sheet. The problem with side-effects is that if even one person in the testing of the drug had a particular reaction, it must be recorded.
