I was wondering how much homeschooling would cost like text books and computer software.
And also what are the best homeschooling software programs for grades 8 and 5?

We're in QUEENSLAND!
thanks

Wahey! I'm no longer a group of one! I'm from remote SA, btw.

How much does it cost to home school? Crikey, that's like trying to answer how long is a bit of string. You could spend thousands of $$...or you could spend $100.

Check with your local library to see if you can join their school library service - as a home schooler, my mum pays $110 a year for me to borrow up to 100 books/CDs/DVDs/CD Roms at a time; we get to keep them for up to a year at a time without the hassle of renewing. It also means we get free advice on curriculum matters etc.

There's also heaps of free work sheets etc you can print off the web and use - check out sites such as Project Happychild (www.happychild.org.uk).

Also have you tried checking out your local SOTA or Brisbane SDE (www.brisbanesde.eq.edu.au)

Good luck and have fun if you do decide to home school.
