I got an email from a christian this morning that left me shaking my head.

In it, he claimed that I was sacrificing my children for the sake of believing in evolution.

His justification for this was Exodus 34.7

And while this stuff goes on............other christians are asking atheists why we have a problem with people believing in the bible.

Isn't it right that I want to protect my kids from this sort of propaganda?

Do these sort of christians really think it will change my stand when they try telling me my children will suffer for my beliefs?

I also got told to ask God for myself if he was real..........hmmm.

Why would I want to ask a question of an imaginary entity that I don't believe in?

Should the guy who sent me the email perhaps pay a visit to a therapist?

ur right... every child is born free of religion, but it is more referring to the type of family they were born into... I was born into a Christian family... my friend a Mormon family... a drama person I know into a Hindu family... there isn't a Christian child, or a Muslim child until they make the decision to follow in the faith of the family... unless you're talking about Christianity, because when you become saved then you become a child of God, whether or not you are, as society sees, a child... you could 100 and still be a child of God... No child is born an athiest because when you say that ur an athiest, you are saying that u are choosing not to choose a religion, babies cannot choose to be anything, so they are nothing until they make the decision to do so...

christians have this idea that we are all like them and we have their bad habits. We may do some bad things but we dont believe in sacrificing our first born or any of our children. Christians do have very funny way of reasoning and sometimes should just listen to themselves or read what they write

"In it, he claimed that I was sacrificing my children for the sake of believing in evolution."

I've never heard that one. I have heard comparisons drawn between pagans who sacrificed their children to idols in order to have a better yield of crops or some other favor granted them in life and people who sacrifice their unborn children at abortion clinics for similar selfish reasons.

Sadly there are so many deluded religious nuts out there. I find it ironic that he accuses you of sacrificing your children, yet he expects us to believe that his god sacrificed his son.

atheist (THINK)
