Once saved always saved is not taught in the Bible
Look at the following verse
“You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; IF ANYONE DOES NOT ABIDE IN Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned.”
John 15:1-6
They were saved but they did not abide so they were lost
"But if a righteous man turns from his righteousness and commits sin and does the same detestable things the wicked man does, will he live? None of the righteous things he has done will be remembered. Because of the unfaithfulness he is guilty of and because of the sins he has committed, he will die." Ezekiel 18:24
The man was righteous and saved but he turned away and is now lost
"Yet you say, 'The way of the Lord is not just.' Hear, O house of Israel: Is my way unjust? Is it not your ways that are unjust? 26 If a righteous man turns from his righteousness and commits sin, he will die for it; because of the sin he has committed he will die. But if a wicked man turns away from the wickedness he has committed and does what is just and right, he will save his life. Because he considers all the offenses he has committed and turns away from them, he will surely live; he will not die. Yet the house of Israel says, 'The way of the Lord is not just.' Are my ways unjust, O house of Israel? Is it not your ways that are unjust?" Ezekiel 18:25-29
It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit, who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age, IF THEY FALL AWAY, to be brought back to repentance, because[b]to their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace.
Hebrews 6:4
Why would the Bible say "If they fall away from salvation" if it was not possible?
Saul was chosen by God, He had the Holy Spirit which enabled him to prophesy yet he turned away and was lost
Jesus sent Judas out with the other disciples and he preached and healed people with the power of the Holy spirit yet he turned away and betrayed Jesus.
“When I say to the righteous he will surely live, and he so trusts in his righteousness that he commits iniquity, none of his righteous deeds will be remembered; but in that same iniquity of his which he has committed he will die." Ezekiel 33:13
“Brethren, if anyone among you WANDERS FROM THE TRUTH, and someone turns him back, let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death and cover multitude of sins. James 5:19-20
“Therefore consider the goodness and severity of God: on THOSE WHO FELL, severity; but toward you, goodness, IF YOU CONTINUE in His goodness. Otherwise you also will be cut off.” Romans 11:22
“IF we endure, we shall also reign with Him. If we deny Him, He also will deny us.” II Timothy 2:12
Why would the Bible say "If we abide" "If we continue to follow" if we could not turn away?
These are only a few of the texts that speak against Once saved always saved

Once saved always saved?
The problem with this teaching is that its not found in the bible.
I know that many Religious leaders say this but to be honest and truthful, you need several scriptures to back up a belief before putting your trust in it.
This becomes more evident when we listen to the comments of some who at one time thought that professing belief in Jesus was all that was needed to be saved. Bernice says: “I was raised in the Brethren Church, but I came to wonder why, if everlasting life is dependent solely on Jesus, he himself said: ‘This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ.’”—John 17:3.
If you do what John 17:3 says, you will come to an understanding of the bible, and what God's plans are for his earth and for you. To help you understand how to study scriptures isn't any difference than asking questions, but instead of having a person tell you what is right, let the bible answer it. If you need help in finding the scriptural answer just ask. gemhandy@gmail.com

Once you are saved, you are always saved. The difference is your reward in Heaven. It only takes a heartfelt prayer to be saved, but it takes faith mixed with trying to live as Jesus would to recieve higher rewards in Heaven. Read your Bible for clarification, specifically:
"For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things DONE IN THE BODY, according to what He has done, whether good or bad." (2 Corinthians 5:10)
"... and each one will receive His own reward ACCORDING TO HIS OWN LABOR." (1 Corinthians 3:8)
"And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to everyone ACCORDING TO HIS WORK." (Revelation 22:12)
Good works won't get you into Heaven, but they will help determine what rank you'll have as a member of Heaven.

Once you are saved, you are saved forever. However, contrary to the manmade traditions of denominational religion, no-one is saved while still alive upon this earth. Earth is the roadway to salvation, not the place where we receive salvation, and Satan doesn't relent from trying to entice us off that road until we have taken our final breath. That's why the Bible tells us, "he who endures to the end, he shall be saved". When Protestants see one of their own wander away from Christ and resume a worldly existence, they say, "well he wasn't really saved in the first place". RIGHT! And neither is anyone else! When we do receive salvation, after the end of our earthly existence, it is forever!

Assurance of Our Salvation
The salvation God provided at the Cross leaves no room for uncertainty. If you've received Jesus as your personal Savior, then the Father wants you to be 100-percent certain you're saved. There's a three-fold test you can apply to your understanding of salvation.
First, ask, "What does the Word of God say?" The Bible's teaching about salvation leaves no room for doubt. Acts 16:31 says it well: "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved." That's it. It doesn't tell us to believe, plus something else. It just says, "believe."
Second, ask, "What is the witness of the Spirit?" Romans 8:16 says, "The Spirit Himself testifies that we are children of God." When we receive Jesus as Lord, the Father gives us His Holy Spirit. This ever-present Spirit inside enables us to relate to and communicate with God. Because of the Holy Spirit, we can continually testify that we're saved. Then, we'll be confident even if our feelings about salvation ebb and flow.
The third question you can ask to better understand salvation is, "What's the desire of my heart?" When the Spirit begins to reside within us, we'll experience powerful changes. We'll develop a desire for intimacy with the Lord and become sensitive to His will. This doesn't mean we'll never sin. But it does demonstrate our born-again spirit reaching for God.
You can know that you're saved. If you've made the commitment to trust Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, then rejoice today as a child of God.
1 John 5:10-13
10The one who believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself; the one who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has given concerning His Son.
11And the testimony is this, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.
12He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life.
This Is Written That You May Know
13These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life.

Once save is not always save UNLESS you remain save. SAVE FROM SINS AND SINNING.
But if you did backslide the Bible tells us that:
Jeremiah 3:14 Turn, O backsliding children, saith the LORD; for I am married unto you: and I will take you one of a city, and two of a family, and I will bring you to Zion:
Therefore He will accept you just surrender unto HIM and repent.
Revelation 2:5 Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.

not what we understand being 'saved' as...
but than again: If a person is REALLY saved, than the desires that would cause him to backslide wouldn't cause him to because He'd have God put on the throne in his life, and would obey God in everything.
I think the question really comes down to:
"Is a person really saved when they _________________?"
this could be argued forever without actually having any straight answers.

If you backslid - in which the Bible says in Proverbs 24:16
For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again.
You should renew your relationship with God, repent, He will forgive you. He has forgiven me.

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. I and my Father are one.
