Does anybody know of a site that can tell you what jobs are in demand in your area and how much they pay? My husband is considering a job change and wants to go back to college but was wanting to research some careers. We live in a small town and don't have a lot of options?? He has taken some networking classes but he is unsure of how available that job is here?

There isn't very many jobs here at all.. right now he is an underground electrician in the mines but that is very dangerous.... He was wanting something in the field of tecnology/computers so it will be a year or two before he could have his degree.. The employment office just hooks you up with jobs that are currently available.. There has to be a site that list what jobs are in demand, pay scale, projected job demand based on people enrolled in college for that said job. I remember seeing this in high school about 7 years ago??? He can't pick a career based on the current want ads of the local newspaper.....???

just look at local want ads - the ones with the most listings will be the ones in demand - same if you check a particular city/area on monster.com or similar website

There usually is a state employment service office in every county--probably in the town or city where the county government is located. They have information on all jobs open in that area, and probably it would be helpful to talk to the people who manage the office.

Your local Chamber of Commerce also may have some information about the kind of jobs that are available in your area, pay scales, education requirements, etc.
