You can't have one without the other.
"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Romans 6:23
"Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?" "
John 11:25,26

Well, you're going to get a variety of answers. I would say churches focus more on death and the afterlife. But me, as a person, practice religion based on life and my future.

Most religion focuses on death and the so called life after it. The examples of thi8s are all around especially from christians who's aim here on earth is to live well enough to get to heaven and to try and convert as many people as possible ao that they can have as many tickets to heaven.

Most religions focus on what happens to you after death. So it must be some of both.

Neither.
Religions focus on returning to rightful living, either through Salvation (Christianity), Enlightenment (Buddhism), or in other ways.
But proper living and facing death are two very important things people face, and they want their religions to address those issues.

As a Christian...We focus more on life than death. In order to gain life (eternal life with Him)...we must die to self (sin/our human nature).
Passage John 10:10:
10The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

Yes. A definite preoccupation with the next life. Always living for tomorrow and tomorrow never gets here.

I don't really think about death that much honestly. I figure I'll cross that bridge when I get there. There is plenty to worry about in life with out bringing death into it!

I can't speak for all religions. As a theistic Satanist, I can say that Satanism definitely focuses more on life. It is in life that we serve Him.

Religions focus on money. They put on a show and ask you to contribute so they can put on more shows.
