Yes. - It's also possible to get real sick trying.
1200 Cal. is a very low intake for an active person ,
and you can harm yourself on an extreme regime
like that.
Ideally, you should consult a physician for the
minimum safe intake appropriate to you.
If you're starting from scratch, you may lose some
weight quickly at first. Loss will taper off quickly.
It depends on how much flab you're carrying now.
At least be sure that the diet you're on is balanced,
and you should also take a multi-vitamin for proper
nutritional support.

A good way to loose weight is to use a calorie counter watch

Keep to a 1,200 food intake

Add 1,200 plus 3,500 (equals one pound of fat) ...and that is the total amount of calories you need to burn each day. Its actually really easy once you start watching the numbers and it doesn't seem like work or exercise. Its just a matter of changing the way you think about loosing weight.

I use this method when i gain some pounds. The first time I did this I went from 168 to 127

As long as you burn more calories than you consume, you can loose weight very easily. 10 pounds in one month is a very good goal. I think you can do it.
