I'm so sick of reality, law/cop, and game shows!
Where have the comedies and dramas gone?
Your opinions?

progressively worse....society is on a downward slope and especially in the television department. Also because we're so concerned that TV is on a downward slope and not other things like politics....oooh boy

I can understand your frustration. Every time you turn on the t.v., there is some reality show starring some person from back in the day with a camera reviewing their lives-just to see how sad they really are (i.e. Anna Nicole). And then there are shows like "Big Brother 8". "The Real World". These shows are just pathetic and sad. I mean, technically, the only reality show that is worth anything happens to be "The Amazing Race" and even "Survivor". Other than that, the others are a waste.
Dramas, well, I am a big fan of "CSI, and I also like the "Law and Order" franchise, too.
For every piece of crap they actuallyy do show on television, there are some actuall good shows out there for people to appreciate that dose not have anything to do with rich, spoiled 20 somethings, idiot people willing to do anything to stay on the air, or women going on Maury to get a paternity test done to see if this one is the baby's daddy.
That God I have cable and the ability to change the channel to try to find something decent on.

Televison goes through little spurts of same old same old. Reality tv shows are really cheap to produce, and they don't have to pay huge salaries to a cast and crew, so the networks gleam onto those like crazy...especially during the summer when the rating numbers are low. Right now it seems that Cop shows and medical dramas are big, but in a year it could be sit coms that rule, if someone actually comes up with some good and fresh ideas. Cable has also become a big force in TV and seems to be a popular outlet with producers and script writers who don't have to worry about censorsip.

Yes, it has. I stopped watching commercial TV years ago. All the comedies and drama are now on DVD, and they're just repeats. I watch the news and the wonder why I did. Being here is much more fun, and it's communication with (hopefully) live people.

It actually got better. we have less reality shows. It is that now it's summer and they shove all the crap like reality and game shows, but coming fall, there is a good selection of scripted TV and good quality reality show.

Crap like Sunset Tan would never make the fall line up

Yeah, I definitely agree.... and some recent shows that I have liked end up canceled.

I like 24, Lost, Desperate Housewives, Prison Break.... but there are no sitcoms... except cartoons like Simpsons and Family Guy.

I think people are losing interest in realities... hopefully sitcoms will come back.
