We cannot withdraw all of our troops by next year. Can't be done! Everyone forgets that we have a lot of military gear, trucks, tanks, planes, weapons, uniforms, etc to move out of the country along with the troops. We cannot leave this stuff behind, it has cost the American taxpayer a mint to pay for all this stuff! Besides, if we left it, guess who would get it? The very people we have been fighting! It is estimated that it would take, at the minimum, 20 months to remove all that we have sent into that country. Plus, we cannot just leave a small group of troops behind, they would all be killed. Some number of troops would have to stay to be able to mount a defense until all could be safely removed. Its a nightmare!

No matter when the troops leave, We are building a huge American embassy in the middle of the green Zone in Baghdad. We will be in there for awhile until who ever gets control of Iraq either bombs the hell out of it of over takes it & throws out the rest on the American in there.

If we left to marrow, we would still be involved with the middle east until the end of time. 95% of terrorist acts against the United States are carried out by middle eastern males. A fact that will not soon change.

No, thats why we should suck it up and win. Winning is the only real way to end a war. Look at Korea, still problems 50 years later because everyone quit fighting, but there was no winner.

NO. We will of course still be their in a certain role, a much reduced one. We would still be involved in government and maybe limited combat training operations. Nothing like what we are at now.

No.
We will still be maintaining a military presence in the Green Zone, and we will still be providing military advisers and trainers, as well as probably military arms and other supplies, for years to come.
Redeploying the majority of the troops back home just ends the combat mission of the occupation -- not our overall involvement.

No!! The Iraq civil wars will continue to be international problems for years to come: refugees, genocide, total collapse of infrastructure and on and on.
