I suspect that you already knew that gazpacho was served cold when you sent this question! That being the case, perhaps this was your first time trying it? I would like to believe that if you didn't know it was to be served cold, then you didn't know what "gazpacho" was and would have asked the waiter about it. And, I suspect that you're having a good chuckle right now for all the responses you've gotten about this. Too much time on your hands!

ABSOLUTELY. Next time you order that, and if it is cold again, raise a major fuss. Insist on talking to the manager. Make sure that everyone in the restaurant knows that they served gazpacho soup cold, and that you are infuriated by this. And don't let them give you the old "gazpacho soup is a cold soup, meant to be served cold" excuse. When they say this, again, raise a fuss, and let everyone there know you are not believing this story, and you have never ever heard of such a thing.
Also, if I were you, I'd make sure you video tape this and post it on the net. I'm sure there are lots of people around who'd love to see this.

Plonker, gazpacho is a cold soup, made from tomatoes, garlic, olive oil, water, little salt to taste, cucumber, anything else you may like to chuck in.......................its a cold summer soup, the colder the better in high summer when the temperature goes over 35 degs you will appreciate it more, down a glass full directly from the fridge, or sit and enjoy and tall glass full with extra ice! I make gallons of it for my spanish husband!

Gazpacho soup is like revenge, they are best served cold..Perhaps you know my friend who went to a fancy restaurant and told the waiter he came to dine there because he heard they had nice ambiance...but he didn't see it on the menu...

No, I wouldn't complain because gazpacho is a traditional summertime soup and is meant to be served chilled.
I suppose you *could* warm it up, but to me it wouldn't be good warmed.
