There is always hope. Hope is in the individual not in the backward sliding race. It sits there with faith and charity. Your questions are great. Thank you for being.

Wrong on practically every measure.
The human race is in much better shape now than it has been at any time in history. A smaller percentage die by violence; slavery is no longer accepted by any nation (though it is still practiced); public torture and murder of people for their religious beliefs is rare; humans are widely aware of the damage they are doing to their planet and are doing something about it; widespread famines are uncommon; cures for a vast number of diseases are known and becoming increasingly widespread; life span is increasing even in the poorest countries.
Human ingenuity has no limits and will continue to better the lot of mankind. The major impediments are medieval superstitions and closed societies.

Hello, Sean:
Many are wondering that same question, and a group of scientists have moved the "dooms day clock" closer to midnight. Yes, everyone is wondering!
Jesus said, as recorded in Luke 21:26== "Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken."
Our leaders are hopeless in controlling events on this troubled globe, and prophecies are fulfilling in rapid succession.
The problem with terrorism making religious freedom a stench in our nostrils will impel bureaucrats to legislate a global religion. It will fail miserably, and yes, the "elements will melt with fervent heat."
There is a Bible code that identifies the major player in this final drama. It is well worth reading at http://abiblecode.tripod.com
Blessings and AGAPE, Balaam

Hope is a lame no action word. We are actually on hold at the moment. Just sit back and relax for now. When the time comes to kick into action, you'll know it.

If theists and atheists can live the gospel we will have no problems.
