Hi Corey, In my opinion....I love a mixture of these in my salad it always hit's the spot...my happy taste buds I guess...
Mixture of lettuce, romaine, Iceberg, red leaf...
sliced sweet onion
Fresh Tomatoes like Roma or your fav.
2 small picking cucumbers
1 red or green or some of both bell peppers
Mix together these ingredients for the dressing:
Red wine vinegar...1/4 cup., 3/4 or less good olive oil...and pinch of salt and pepper pinch of sugar....dried oregano....whisk all dressing ingredients together taste first to adjust seasonings..
a few cubes of feta cheese for the top of the salad...
if you can get some bread sticks...to eat along with it...IT'S THE BEST...or if not some Pita bread or Nan bread....
simple to me and delicious...

Favorite Salad?
Clean Out the Fridge Cuz I Don't Feel Like Cooking Salad.
Start with a portion of shredded lettuce in a large bowl. Keep in mind that this is going to be a whole meal, not just a simple side salad.
Depending on what's in the fridge and pantry... cut up and tossed in - onions, mushrooms, red or green peppers, tomatoes, carrots, fresh or frozen (thawed) peas, alfalfa sprouts, bean sprouts, sausage, taco meat, hot dogs, steak (cooked), cheddar, colby, jack, parmesan or mozzerella cheese, cheese curds, croutons --- the list can go on.
Usually this is topped with French or Western dressing, but if I need something spicy, I'll use salsa instead.

My favorite salad is Cesar. I like the elegant display of the salad and that it is not exceeded by and assortment of toppings.

I love a salad made with Romaine and red leaf lettuce, some spinach, with a whole assortment of veggies: turnip, radish, red and green peppers, cucumber, cauliflower, carrots and zucchini. Then top it with cheese, croutons, and a homemade honey and mustard dressing! Delicious!

Does fruit salad count? It's so flavorful, it doesn't require dressing. Grapefruit adds a very tangy, juicy zing.
